Twin Lakes CA brings back floods of good memories, nostalgia and remembrances of my childhood when, at ages maybe 5 to 15, Daddy would take all of us kids to same. For the fishing, the scenery, and the camping with all seven of us! I loved the tiger swallowtail butterflies, chipmunks, blue belly lizards, tent camping, sleeping outside with my brothers, great stuff. I wish to visit soon. thank you

If you start eating apples you can save the seeds to start apple tree seedlings that you can later plant on your hikes. We need a female Johnny Appleseed to get more fruit in the mountains. Nothing better than being able to pick a fresh apple or pear off a tree while your out exploring. Maybe it will catch on with the help of a future geo cashe app showing where and when a tree was planted.

It's 1:17pm Sunday the 20th in San Diego (City Heights) and so far I am very unimpressed with this hurricane/tropical storm. Lots of gentle rain but hardly no wind so far. The thunder storm in this video was more extreme than anything here so far. Although it's not over yet, I'm less concerned. Thanks for your thoughts CG but here I think we'll be OK, knock on wood.

Thank you for all the beauty you show. Best wishes and prayers for your sister. I used to camp years ago with three of my children, I was so brave then. I had a small car so we squeezed in a tent and everything else we needed. We always had at least one storm hit us, soaking everything, so had to head to a nearby town for a laundromat to dry up. We would just cuddle up and try to sleep. Blessings.

@@Deborah986 Commercial or General Aviation? I'd suggest Mammoth :Lakes/Yosemite. (MMH) United and Alaska serve it froim LAX, SFO, SJC, and PDX. Brodgeport has a neat little airport, Bryant Field. (O57) Departures are interesting with a required turn to north to avoid mountains. Usually, when I fly into that part of California, I go in/out of RNO or LAX.
