It’s because marching band songs cants be as long as concert songs since when they March in a parade they usually lay these songs multiple times

@@alexanderavila3278 More than just parades, we play 3 or 4 songs a shop, and playing 4, 3-4 minute songs in a show can lead to shows being up to 16 minutes long, which is really tiring

No one uses soprano sax for marching band. Also just play the clarinet or tenor sax parts

@@austinchapman7863 Buckeye, AZ. Our school has a couple of sopranos but we never used them for marching before our band director doesn't like the sound. And I have seen the soprano sax being used at a competition once but it was just for a solo

@@JacobieHumphrey and about that full front ensemble part, these are usually written for small bands in mind. Sometimes they have full front ensemble if it's a performance arrangement. They usually have bells/vibes doubled and marimba/xylophone doubled.
