I feel like the subtitles really missed some important context with Aim's character. She actually says she likes girls. she’s not bi, she’s a lesbian dealing with comphet and societal expectations, especially from her mom. The fact that Phun’s the only guy she feels comfortable with is such a classic comphet experience, where lesbians sometimes mistake kindness for romantic feelings. Plus Phun feeling sad after breaking up with Aim is valid. Just because he likes Noh doesn’t mean his feelings for Aim weren’t real! Phun’s not gay; he’s clearly bi, which means he can have genuine romantic feelings for both Aim and Noh. Breaking up is painful, and it makes total sense for him to feel conflicted and hurt. I'm so glad Noh was there for him, that part was really wholesome. This kind of complexity is actually one of the things I love about the show - both Phun and Aim are dealing with their identities in unique ways, and the characters are so emotionally mature for high schoolers, which is why I just wish the translations captured that depth better!

I understand people who are frustrated that noh and phun should be an official couple but remember that in the original version there are two seasons, season 1 12 episodes, season 2. 36 episodes so I think for the 2024 version he tries to combine the 2 seasons that's why it takes longer but know that the scenes are the same, phun and noh become an official couple after the Breakup, especially after jeed comes to flirt with noh so probably ep10 or 11

For those who watched the original 2014 version know that he tries not to delete the important scenes that's why phun has to withdraw for a while before being in a relationship with noh in ep10.The 2024 version even though it is modern still tries to keep the original story without removing the best scenes and I like it, so it's normal that noh is still waiting for phun after the breakup

Dude, same. I was annoyed the whole episode because, while it seemed to be moving faster, nothing substantial was happening. Then they added another character, which doesn’t make sense when there are still unresolved issues.

@@andreaflorb right. Was literally gasping when they introduced a third party in the next episode. Like they totally ignored the fact that there was no literal decent conversation between characters to talk about their issues. I already forgive them for the shallowness of every dialogue of the characters because I didn't expect anything at all from this series (well I do understand that the actors here are all new and don't have much experience) but at least they should have overcome that missing piece in the storyline at least. But nah the writers failed miserably. I'm getting bored already. Too bad these actors and the whole series has really great potential. But the writing is really bad compared to the original version of Lovesick. It seems like the company handling them is trying so hard to market them like GMMTV actors. I wish they weren't doing that. The Lovesick franchise was not like this at all so I don't understand why the upgrade looks like an imitation rather than something better or at least unique. I already stopped watching similar concepts from GMMTV because while it works for some new actors it really doesn't give much value to them as an actor. The actor playing Phun here seems like having a potential for a dramatic actor but they always ruined his scene for not giving him much focus in the dialogue. When he stares at his co-actors and gives us those drowsy sad eyes I'm already hooked but they are also quick to interrupt it with silly dialogues and unserious gestures from his co-actors. I get it they are trying to put light hearted scenes or change the overall concept of Lovesick but really the storyline is not giving me anything.

@@aintnohighenough I get your point. Almond has the potential to be a good actor, but he’s not being utilized properly, so he ends up coming across as a shallow character. I really thought they would improve this version, unlike the 2014 which had so many filler scenes, but they took the same approach here. The difference is that this is a 15-episode series, not a 30+ episode one like in 2014, so it should progress faster so there's no need to add more characters. I understand that TIA51 is a budding company, but they shouldn’t follow the same formula as GMMTV. TIA51 talents are already good; they just need more development.

@andreaflorb exactly. That's why I'm annoyed. At least with the 2014 version a lot of things really happened in every episode. And the fillers while not much of it are interesting they actually contribute to the main plot. Here, I don't even understand what's the point of introducing a lot of characters but never really gave them an interesting story or input. And yes, them copying the GMMTV formula is not really good for their actor's potential. The GMMTV formula might have worked for a huge BL audience from Thailand but that's because they seem to invest a lot on production and they are a huge company already when they began to get full blast with the BL contents. As someone who's been watching for a long time about Thai BLs, I am actually looking for something new. So copying a strategy from a huge company really doesn't make a good impression.

Thank goodness that's cleared up at last. They can still be friends. Everything can calm down and Phun can concentrate on his true love. I have forgotten what this new girl Jeed does in the original series, but I think she is bad news. I watched the uncut Ep9 on IQIYI. There is a whole comedy Christmas scene with all the boys playing about which I don't think is in this version. This series is the highlight of the week.

WoW, Jed! Finally. I really liked her at the start of the OG. I kinda understood her, but when she does a flip of character, she was the second character I hated the most. Only surpassed by Aim. This time I love Aim, they did an amazing job with her character. Let's see how this Jed acts. I'm loving this remake there were times in the OG that the editing didn't make sense and I couldn't follow a lot of things that happened to the secondary characters, in this one the editing is much better. I'm loving to see it again after ten years. Yes, I was there the first time this show started. I feel old xD

Does anyone else feel like the pacing is so much slower now, to the point that the long silences are confusing rather than exciting? What happened after ep 4? It's like a totally different series/writing/directing? Clearly the actors CAN act (we saw a great performance in ep 1-3), so what happened? The changes made to the OG (in particular waiting for anything to happen between Phun and Noh until after everything is "cleared up" with the girls) just ruined it I feel. Yes the OG wasn't maybe "ideal" but what love story is? That original guilt and battling with it and their emotions made all the rest make sense! It changes the whole dynamic of the story to the point that Phun being upset after the breakup makes no sense anymore, Noh "waiting" makes no sense anymore either, and their beautiful love is tainted, and dare I say "bland" when it certainly wasn't... It's a shame. I keep hoping the next ep will turn the tide back to the first 3 amazing eps, but...

So to people who are kind of confused, the writers were probably trying to bridge the story from the original. This is why Phun is upset at the break up with Aim even though he already likes Noh. In the original series, Phun and Noh weren't gay per say. They were just gay for each other (The essence of what the BL genre is. Straight guys who find that one guy that they are willing to go gay for... like the only exception to their otherwise straightness... idk if this is making sense to you guys lol, like there was an excerpt somewhere I can't remember exactly where they said if they didn't find each other, they would have just dated and maybe married a girl). So anyways, Phun equally loved Aim and Noh in the original series, this is why he was pretty indecisive throughout the original series and this is also the main reason Phun couldn't progress with how to express his feelings towards Noh... that is until he caught Aim cheating red-handed with the help of Golf (who is a guy in the original version and not trans... also in love with Taeng Mo (she has an abusive BF in the original) who contacted Noh to let Phun know what was going on in his apartment complex where the guy Aim was cheating on Phun was at. Noh, in the original series, also entertained Yuri's feelings because he was a pushover who didn't want to hut anyone's feelings, It's also why Earn kept pursuing him until he got to an actual confession, This was where he then rejected Earn's feelings but still kept trying to be nice and Earn literally told him to not be too nice coz it was not helping Earn to get over him.
