My daughter goes there too , freshman ( 2022-2026) . She says foods at Yade are incredible ; yummy , healthy and nutritionist . I was like " 😲h...🤔 okay , she might just saying that to making less worry about her .." but now , watching your video I know she's telling me the truth. Amazing! Thank you for sharing ❣️

Looks amazing! Here in Canada, I lived on rice, salsa and mayo for a month... then it was instant Chinese spicy noodles or KD until I graduated with my degree in Chemistry. I lost 55 lbs. Finished school weighing 92 lbs at 5'5". My first pay cheque after graduation, I sat and ate at a buffet for 5 hours until they kicked me out... was literally drinking maple syrup... what I would have given to have what you had to eat. Did my laundry in my bathtub, whites first, then darks to save on water and detergent. Hung to dry. Living room table was books stacked with a piece of plywood from campus construction. Slept in my sleeping bag because it was so cold... all worth it. Great education and fantastic jobs until covid killed government funded scientific projects... and I had more than alot of fellow students! 😝🇨🇦

The food looks delicious! The food at my school was mostly served restaurant style. We did not have buffet style or a yogurt bar. All of the dining halls on my campus had the same things burgers, pasta/pizza, sandwhiches and soup or salad. One dining hall had mediteranian for a couple years and then it was taken out. It was nice to have a couple mini grocery stores on campus. The best place on my campus was the custom sandwhich station or mediterranian. I hope you get better sleep and have a great week!

During my first year of university, most first years were put in catered halls, but it was breakfast and dinner only. To save money most would get a big breakfast and then a big dinner. But like Yale, the dining hall was only open from 4:30 to 6:30 so for me if lab days ran late I’d have to rush back to the one dining hall I had access to. Plus the options were limited; the lasagne on a Tuesday was good (though that was lab day so probably would have eaten anything) and Saturday was usually something and chips, and the cooked breakfast on a Sunday was amazing. But other days the options weren’t good….I think I got a casserole once that was brownish grey sauce and no noticeable other ingredients

hi! i’m also a yale sophomore so i hope i can help answer your question! some students have toaster ovens or hot plates in their suite so they can cook. i do because i don’t always like walking out in the cold (i’m also on old campus right now so i have to leave to get food). some of the colleges have kitchens that are open to students but these have only recently been open due to covid. additionally the colleges have a buttery which is run by students and from like 10-1am and they make a variety of foods like chicken nuggets, quesadillas, and other things. you do have to pay for it but it’s cheap! i hope this helps!

Like hearing about storing daily breakfast food items in the frig for later. It means you don't hang out on campus, all day long and go back to your room only when you need to sleep. People, like that, freak me out. And first thing I noticed about being at college was that you were in the minority, if you wanted to go back to your room, even for a few moments, to sort of rest and recharge. I eventually just packed up and moved home to live, until I could live off campus. Yale is a pretty demanding school. Interesting how much thought goes into what a high energy, high intelligence student eats. Food, as in something you are choosing to eat in real time, is such an interesting topic, although 'talking' about how you prefer 'unsalted' butter because it's 'so creamy,' compared to 'salted' is really gimpy and weak.
