Tom97 had exactly the same problem. He was not happy. I think he sort of fixed it by dropping brake pressure down to 80ish, but not totally. For reference for me when I get to this point in R&D, does this issue affect mostly no assists/wheel users? If we already use ABS anyway, presumably this won't affect us as much? Or would you stay away from these upgrades no matter what?

It's 100% the upgrades, turn down the pressure to around 85%-90% and you can go at 50 bias

Yeah it's still way harder to drive the car vs F1 2020, but turning down the brake pressure has helped tremendously at not making me lock up like crazy. Before it was either locking up hard into every big braking zone, braking like 30-50 meters sooner than the AI, or having the problems Ben had.

I really want 2022 to have a car upgrade path (like choosing to go for a planted rear ala Vettel, or a car that has a darty front like Raikkonen prefers). I hate it when the upgrade makes the driving feel worse and you can't alter it back besides hoping for a reg change.

Yes, I want to be able to pick a development route in pre season testing. Collect R&D points per lap or per testing programme in pre season testing, then upgrade through your chosen upgrade path.

If you have done more than 2 upgrades try turning the pressure down to 80% it usually helps, not perfect but is definitely much better to drive

yes the issue for me now is that i have the fastest car and then when i tap the brakes they get red hot warning flashers within like 100m and then the car doesn't stop.

I think MyTeam and driver career cars should start 0.5s-1s slower than the regular F1 cars so you don't hit a point where the cars are too fast to drive properly, such as how tyre temps always overheat when you get faster, forcing you to run minimum pressures every race.

In my maxed out car in My Teams, I've been struggling to brake where i usually brake. For example, Baku, alot of my usual breaking points jsut sends me into the wall, especially T7. I'm braking where the dynamic line indicates and it just doesn't. Monaco also felt really weird at some braking points. I think the brakes are off or something

i'm so glad you posted this and i have the same issue, specifically at Baku. if you look at the temperature ldf, you'll notice the brakes get red hot with warning flashing after very short braking period, making the brakes less effictive. I think the larger discs and calipers combined with the increase in top speed of a full UG car makes the brakes overhead faster than they should and you lose effectiveness. i have tried as others suggessted and turned down pressure to 80% and even 75% and they still overheat.

So I have full brake upgrades and I have to run around 58% brake bias, depending on downforce level maybe even more, otherwise the rears just lock instantly. It's just gotten more and more pronounced with more upgrades

It's the brake upgrades. I have a maxed out car in my career mode and it immediately spins as soon as you brake. What worked for me somewhat was lowering brake pressure to 75% or somewhere there about and trail-braking every corner, which is not ideal and loses you seconds which sucks. It's more like a brake downgrade

50% bias is not true for every track. Tracks like Belgium and Imola can take 50%. Maximum brake upgrades were ruining the car in F1 2020 game too.

Something about the one break upgrade throws the whole thing off. Tom Martinez complained about the same thing in season 3. I believe he increased the bias to 56 or higher

@@MihaiKrieger from what I gather with Tom97 it is the 3rd upgrade. He's at maxed out cars. I think its in his season 4, early on in the season he talks about it and his fix.

I have noticed the brake upgrades work to make the car stop faster by the rear brakes. So you have to push the bias forward to make is 50% bias. Don't know why.

If you’re dragging and dropping an old ERP for your myteam car it will have the old XML physics, to fix you need to validate and replace files on steam and manually change the paint/decal dds files for the myteam car to keep the new physics using ERP manager.

The "braking balance" update for the online cars do not apply to your career mode car. Jarno already discovered this in his career mode video from Australia. if you run your "normal" 55-57% bias you're fine

One of those break upgrades is horrible. I started running 70% break pressure (or less) to combat it. I have all the breaks upgrades so i can't tell which one is the bad one. About the break bias, 50% seems all right to me, with and without custom livery.

I’m on PS5 with no mods and I have a fully upgraded car and I usually run around 56%-58% brake bias by choice. I still have issues with locking the fronts instantly when touching the brakes and when I lower the brake bias to try and counter the front locking I then lock the rears instantly.

ben you can use the ego erp archiver to maybe fix this, first verify integrity of game files use the erp archiver and in the f1 2021 directory go to asset_groups > 2021_vehicle_package > teams > fom car and open the erp file go to xml and export the xml file then go back to teams > myteam_renault and open the erp file and export that xml file close the erp archiver and install the livery mod now with the erp archiver open back up the fom car erp file and import the xml file from earlier and save, then repeat for myteam_renault aaand done, you can use a similar technique to make worse teams better e.g. replacing the Williams xml with the Mercedes xml will make Williams quick

I mod my car and I used that brake update and when I used 50 percent brake bias is so hard to master so either use 60 percent brake bias or do what I did upgrade further which seems like it’s fixing my problem
