@@dsafadsddfca I see it as management, a penalty may well be due at some point so surely it’s better to take it when you’ve not got the pace in qualifying. Would a team in real life seriously give up the opportunity to take an extra unit when it impacts them the least?

@@RltchieI Its gamey because that's not how penalties actually work IRL. You dont take a 4th ICE component before youve taken your second one. Its a shame that engine upgrades dont work in a similar way either (and I try to counter that by taking a new engine component after a major upgrade), but defying normal logic just to get an upper hand on an AI that doesn't know any better and is already garbage at component management seems a bit excessive imo. But you can do whatever you want if youre having fun.
