Thanks for taking the time for making this video. I just got my machine yesterday, and so far, I found out, that for achieving correct punching, the less sheets you take at a time, the easier it is, to fit them all correctly all the way to the back, and thus, resulting in an even punching line. Especially when you are using print outs with dense colouring, the sheets tend to bend, which makes the adjustment for punching more fiddely.

I agree. It says you can do a fair amount but I find less is better and easier to work with when actually punching the holes.

Thanks for this. Mine arrived today, same make as yours. I wanted to file some writing I've done. Realised my combs too small. So ordered ones your size. I wouldn't have known. So good job I saw your vid. I'm going to make my daughter a colouring book.

Hi!! I’m wondering if you are still happy with the comb binding? I’m trying to decide between comb and coil binding machine to bind my homeschool books that I print at home!
@TheLearningLadder4 жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks for watching. I do still like it to bind my teaching resources. I do like the coil system too, so I think either would work. The only problem I found with coil was I couldn't find one within my budget that would bind the quantity of pages I needed. Some of my teaching guides are 400 plus pages. In my dream, I would have both. In reality, the comb works for my needs and budget. Hope that helps.

The Learning Ladder that’s exactly where I’m at in my decision process! Thanks for the help! I may one day get a coil but I just purchased all of next years books and supplies so I wanted to be cheaper. But at the same time I wanted it to be something I can function with. I’m glad you showed the large spine because most videos show the small. I was curious how well the pages turned or if you could still flip the pages behind the book to Hold it easier! Thanks again!!! Very helpful!

I use the plastic CombBind brand with mine, but I don't see why not, as long as they are plastic and the right size for your machine/paper quantity.

Hi there :) is it possible to set the machine to bind with 20 holes on an A4 paper?
@TheLearningLadder4 жыл бұрын
Another person commented below saying they have done so. My combs are 21 holes so I have never needed to.
@lrntz55254 жыл бұрын
thank you for the video.. has ever happened to you that this machine doesn't punch your sheets always properly? I bought yesterday the "Peach pb200-30" comb machine but until now it punched many times my sheets on the edge of the paper, so they were not bindable together and i had to reprint them. i was thinking that maybe buying the tianse and changing the paper margin on the back of it from 3 to 4 or 5 mm could definitely prevent this
@TheLearningLadder4 жыл бұрын
It has occasionally but with mine, it is usually due to the waste tray needing emptying. Or sometimes if I don't line the paper correctly. I find if I am using thicker paper, it helps to put a plain piece, like a guide sheet on top. It doesn't happen often though.
@lrntz55254 жыл бұрын
@@TheLearningLadderthank you so much.. have you tried to punch with a 4 or 5 mm paper margin? If so, what consequence does it have? Does it need a bigger comb?
@TheLearningLadder4 жыл бұрын
@@lrntz5525 The comb for mine depends on the amount of paper you are using. Hope that helps. Empty your waste tray regularly and practice with blank sheets first to make sure you are aligning everything correctly. Hope that helps.

moving the "red thing" all on the left, can I have 20 holes instead of 21 excluding the last punch on the right?
@TheLearningLadder4 жыл бұрын
Sorry I just saw your comment. I haven't tried that as my coils have all been 21. It has a setting for A4 and A5, but I'm not sure whether you can change it by 1. If I find out you can I will update my reply.

@@TheLearningLadder it doesn't matter. I've already buy the binding machine. I can move the red thing to right and it's possible to exclude the first punch! ❤️

How easy is it to open and re-fasten the comb if you want to edit papers?
@TheLearningLadder4 жыл бұрын
It is not something I would routinely do, so it wasn't a factor for me in purchasing. You can easily pull out pages, but if you are wanting to re-insert them in, half way through, you would need to take out the pages before or after to insert. This is not a big deal for me as I have never needed to, but if you are regularly doing this, then it is something to consider. I prefer this binding machine to others due to the fact it can bulk bind a large amount. The other machines on the market that are easier to add and remove, generally do not allow binding of this amount in one document. It all depends on what you are wanting out of the machine.
@awreckingball4 жыл бұрын
@@TheLearningLadder thanks for the reply. I was thinking of using this for sheet music. I imagine I'd have around 300-400 sheets in a book and I'd need to add 5-10 pages to the back every now and again.
@TheLearningLadder4 жыл бұрын
@@awreckingball It will definitely work for that capacity, but as you bind from the back it may not be the most convenient option. It depends on how often and quantity, I guess. If you have several books to add to, it would probably be tedious after a while. I just have not seen one that has all the features yet. You can't have it all I guess lol.
