Do you have an old WWII Jeep that needs to be brought back from the dead? Meet Don Denning, owner of Kilroy's Garage. From the Ford Pygmy prototype, to the G.P. and the Willys Jeep, Don is the man who can conduct the olive-drab resurrection! In this video, Rex takes you on a tour of Kilroy's Garage to see what Don is working on now. We were surprised to see the recently uncovered original Ford Pygmy. We also got to look at a Ford G.P. restoration in progress. At the end of the video, we show you a completed (award winning) 1940 G.P. in all its beautiful detail. We hope you find this as interesting as we did.
Special thanks to our Rex Reviews participant DinosaurEatchYa for inviting us to Kilroy's Garage where he has worked with Don and learned as much about the Jeep as he has about the American Dream! Thank you, Don - for passing down your skills to the next generation!

You can tell that this man loves his work. The attention to detail is no joke for him. Every piece has to be period correct, or he wants no part of it. I surely hope he has a younger individual to take his place when he's gone, because these jeeps and other things that were made during these times will probably outlive us all. Great video Rex, and thanks for bringing us this true American who has a true passion for our history.

TiborasaurusRex those headlights man, that's slick. My uncle had a Willis jeep, I wonder if it had them? I never looked under the hood. His ran like a champ. He sold it for 300 dollars. I think it still ran great. I couldn't ride in it long as a adult, 75 inches tall dude doesn't fit in there well for long rides LOL

I think you need to give the proper credit to the Bantam company. They're the ones who CREATED the Jeep. Willys and Ford were given the contract to build them but thats it.
@muffinman3111
@muffinman3111 3 жыл бұрын
Bantam was the first company to make a prototype Willys and Ford made their own prototypes and Willys won the contract then Ford started making the gpw

these wheels are so wrong on this jeep. Split rim combat rims are for the standard WW2 jeep. This jeep should have solid rims. Also you do not put a blackout light on the front fender of the GP. This is still a nice jeep but its got some incorrect things about it.

This guy is full of crap the military only liked the placement of the lights on the ford version and that ford had a big enough factory to build them they realy liked the original desigher phantom but the couldn't mass produce them so they took phantoms design added the lights from fords modded phantom jeep and the powerful engine from willies modded phantom jeep but didn't comission phantom to build there own jeep because how small they were
