I’m diagnosed with anxiety and other stuff (I don’t like to talk about) and when my anxiety gets bad I tic. At first I would panic because I only thought you tic’d if you had Tourette’s. I ended up going to the hospital because they didn’t stop so we thought it was a physical issue. When I found out that because of my anxiety, they could be anxiety tics I was so confused but it made sense. Since I’ve been suffering with anxiety my whole life, I’ve always had little tics that were hardly noticeable. I had tics almost everyday for like a month because I was always having really bad anxiety but slowly they went down after some time on anxiety medication. I still have tics everyday but their manageable, but because of my anxiety and stuff I have agoraphobia. But I’m lucky because my mum has always been by my side, spending nights in hospital and always understanding the little things I do. She’s honestly been a big help with dealing with my mental health issues, she’s my best friend and I honestly don’t know what id do without her….

My neurologist and therapist said I have anxiety tics because I have really bad anxiety. I just started having really noticeable tics in 2020, it's now 2021 and they're getting worse. I have really bad tics, I cuss, I make weird noises, snap, move my hands, neck, or shoulders. I'm starting to think this could be tourettes syndrome. Btw i'm 15 I've always had small eye/ blinking tics when I was younger. This is so strange.

im the exact same as you, and yea if ur even reading this lol it could be tourettes, it sounds more like tourettes than anxiety tics. but hope things are good for you right now!! :)

Anxiety can exacerbate tics like that, but not cause them. Go to someone who specialises in movement disorders if you haven’t already.

I 100% have tics cause of anxiety my eyes twitch roll thing is from my older brother I saw him do it so I ended up gaining it as I got older I shook a few tics but I’ve still always had my nose twitch and eye roll thing and when I get nervous I crack my knuckles. A few years ago I would crack my neck as a tic and it hurt so much I was able to stop.

@@bendyalien They might be. I had to see a doctor about mine because I had started getting tics where I would hit myself and other things. It didn’t hurt but that along with other things make my tics pretty noticeable. When I went to a doctor they couldn’t place exactly what was causing them but they did tell me that they were involuntary tics. I would recommend seeing someone if you honestly have no clue. I just kinda assume mine are anxiety tics but they may be something else so I’m seeing a neurologist soon.

I have Chronic Anxiety, but idrk if I have anxiety tics. It only happens when I’m really stressed/anxious. I get head jerks, really strong jaw clenching/biting down, clicking and hitting my leg/arm idek what’s going on. I also have OCD. So people with anxiety tics; is this it? Or is it something else? (Note: it’s only showed up this year)
@tiffythekewlchick34574 жыл бұрын
It could be. I would talk to a therapist about this. People with OCD may also have tics so it's important to tell this to your therapist and they can help u figure out what is causing the tics. Me, personally I just started ticking today and I notice that my heart races and it just feels like an ichy feeling where I have to do it and the more that I think about it, it keeps going on.
