I never not notice hiccups. 😅 It one of the most annoying bodily functions. But luckily I know how to make it stop. I don't know how to stop tics and that's a big difference in my opinion. 😅

When ever I have hiccups I become fully aware of them. Like I just straight up can’t function with them. Idk why. It lowkey feels slimmer to being overwhelmed to me.

I SO GET THAT!!! I have quite a few ticks, most of which are completely silent, but recently I developed this one that I call “clicking my throat” and that’s pretty much what it is. I didn’t even notice it though until my mom pointed it out, and I realized that I had it. Everytime I did it there on out, she would scold me and tell me to stop it because “it was annoying her” but I don’t think she gets that it is literally painful for me to not do it because it’s a tick. Also when I was younger my dad would often tell me to “control the tick” whenever I would tick, and it just made me do it even more and it SUCKED!!! I really like your content though, it makes me feel like someone out there actually gets me, because I don’t have any friends that tick as much as I do :/

THIS. (Btw sorry i just discovered your channel and now im commenting on like every video.) Tics CAN be suppressed, and it is PAINFUL. However with time, the pain involved can be decreased, or at least become less noticeable, but regardless it's easily a part of the darker side of having TS because a lot of people with it feel like they need to hold it back and it can be a very exhausting and even traumatizing way to live especially for children.

They are definitely like hiccups. In fact, i need to stop comparing them to yawning, because they feel so much more like hiccups. Involuntary and annoying and fatiguing. But it’s really easy to get rid of hiccups. I’ve had a method that has never failed me or my boys. Hold your nose and drink through a straw until you can’t hold your breath any longer. Let go and force a burp. If you did it right, your hiccups will be gone. If not, repeat the process. I also find it helps to look up with just your eyes (don’t tilt your head), but that part might not be necessary. Serious though, this method works for everyone I’ve taught it to. Thank god, cause i hate hiccups. TS is bad enough!

I usually just swallow a spoonful of sugar to stop hiccups, but I'll have to try this method aswell!

I'm not sure if it's true or not but I remember hearing several times that chronic hiccups was a form of tourettes. I will often get hiccups that lasts hours and it's so annoying. Love your content by the way, much love and respect from North Carolina.

I get the hiccups a lot and sometimes they really hurt! I hope having tics aren't as bad because I had them for 10 hours once and felt like offing myself! I don't think I'd want to live if I got a case of incurable hiccups (a condition that actually exists!)

I have had intractable hiccups for 8 years. My therapist actually thought it was a tic. Turns out, I actually have a damaged diaphragm from GERD.

Huh! That is so true! I don’t have Tourette’s, but I do get tics, and I get kinda like a week of tics then a week of not, which probably sounds weird, but it really is like hiccups!!

I think you should get the eye movements checked out by a neurologist, I'm not saying you don't have tics I'm just saying I have the same eye movements as seizures and it was misdiagnosed as a tic for 7 years. I did have a neck tic accompanying it but I got it under control. Specifically the eye movements, my seizures are called eyelid mychlonia.
