The Chimera pronunciation topic highlights one of the most frustrating aspects of the English language. In Spanish, there's one and only one way of pronouncing things "phonemic orthography", and it makes so much more sense.

I disagree, because a LOT of phonemics/synonyms in spanish differ per region as well. As someone who talks with a "Mexican" tongue, someone from Spain would be able to tell, and vice versa. That being said, I think we both would probably say Chimera "kí-mera" the same.

Most languages use phonetic letters. English language has chosen to use a random string of letters to denote different words.

I've no idea what the correct way to pronounce Edward is but throughout many years of playing WoW, I've heard many different people from many different countries pronounce it the same way, it's always been keymehra.

I don't prioritize it too often over premium minions that can win midgame and synergize w/ 2-stars like Cord Puller, Dragons, anything that is econ/buff oriented, but otherwise it's an ok pickup. I will often prioritize it in games where demons are dominant (no quillboar/ele) though.

While I personally pronounce it "Kai-Mera", it's time to stop ignoring the real issue. Is Bofur pronounced "Bow-fur" or "Boff-ur"?

Im not american/english but ive never heard another way of pronouncing it but "kay-mehr-ah"

ahh but that's the beauty of the situation. I've never heard it ever pronounced "kay-mehr-ah". It's either "Kai-meer-ah" (technically) or "Ku-mehr-ah" more colloquially in my region. Ask another in other regions and you get all kinds of differences. Great for memes and painful for the overzealous who have to correct everything that isn't common in their own dialect ;)

@@bofur Haha,what a mystery of a word. Although i have to admit i just messed up a bit as the way i explained how i pronounce it is actually the same way you first described it, which is to say "Kai-meer-ah". I thought of it in my native language,which in hindsight doesnt work in english :D
