Instead of bug screen, you can buy some 2'' louver soffit vents at your hardware store. It will help keep rain and bug out as well.

FINALLY!!! :) I've been waiting for this video. Thank you. I think I"ll modify it for my little bitty place (5 acres), but I need something spicer than the .07 joule (I think) charger that I have.
@tickcreekranch7 ай бұрын
I rarely have more than 5/8 mile of total fencing that’s hot. This keeps it really “spicy”. The price increase from a 3 to 6J was negligible so I went for the bigger badder one. This whole set up was comparable in price to the 1J Gallagher and it also has remote/fault finder😁 Love it!

@@tickcreekranch my thought is to make a wire around the perimeter hot and then jumper off of that as needed.

Same watched a ton on youtube and this is 1 of maybe 3 good videos on building a solar charger and i think the best one. I got a parmak 3j solar fencer and it was complete junk. Not even close to hot and broke in less than a year. Honestly the cheapo one at tractor supply that's like .5 joule was hotter.

@@masonlearns hope it helps👍 I’ve had a couple Parmacs and they still work, but they aren’t hot like this

Congrats. Best build I've seen so far for something like this. The remote is priceless, didn't even know you could get one with so many functions. Brilliant!!!!😀

Yea! I was going to see if I could find a video on this subject, as I need to make my fence charger portable. I have goats, so no low voltage junk will keep them in. Thank you so much! Sent this one to my son.

Nice fencer build. 6J should add some respect. I have some 3J fencers and I sure don't work the fence hot. Just curious what you use for ground rod(s)?

Currently I’m just using 3 30” slide hammer rods. I need to add more, but currently it’s working great!

@@tickcreekranchbeen looking for "30" slide hammers", are they the same thing that can be bought at harbor freight?
@tickcreekranch6 ай бұрын
@@Ballisticblonde no I don’t believe so, I got these at our local farm and feed store. This is what I’m going to try next, these are affordable. The aforementioned not so much. amzn.to/3zdlGms

Do you have a link to the solar panel kit you used? I really like how the brackets mount to the toolbox

What did you end up using as a ground?

If you are willing to use the budget fence chargers, which you did, Im not sure why you didnt save more money by skipping the inverter and getting a budget dc charger. On the other hand, I wonder if in time you will decide the extra $1OO is better to go with a dc cyclops. I like what you did and tried here, hope it gives you a long time of use, and thanks for sharing. Edit .. I will say, though, I do like the multimeter readings that the inverter gives you.

The selection of charger was all about the remote capabilities. That thing is priceless 👍

Get that common sense stuff out of here, we are supposed to be consumers 😅. 1 note of caution for peeps in the SE , ants love dancing electrical pixies. Remote things like chargers and well pumps are affected. Great build using out of the drawer parts!
