I've always wanted this game but couldn't justify the price. Black Friday at my LFGS had it for 40% off! I taught the kids how to play last night. So happy to finally have this one. The rules are so easy. Great review!

I personally love this 10th anniversary edition. This makes Ticket to Ride THE perfect game to introduce to beginners. It was already such a great gateway game, but the beautiful components just push this one over the top.

I think it's worth it, if you think about it the original USA base game retails for around 45$ and the expansion alone for 17$ so this is like 18$ more for all the cool components.

+TheAngryPhioneEggs I'm guessing your talking about the base game, as i've seen it for around $75 - 85. I stumbled on this version today and its around $160 aud, very nice looking, but although it looks really pretty, its very expensive just for those nicer pieces and tins, For that price you can get a standard TTR and a copy of TTR Europe and you'd still have some change lol

I love this edition, happy that I bought this all these years ago, also considering the prices they are selling on Ebay and such. I never had the original, so this was my way into Ticket to Ride. I have bought all kinds of expansions since then and can use the trains from Europe for those maps, so no problem there. I've introduced the game to friends and family (all ages) and pretty much everyone is (really) in to it. Everytime I set up and play the game, it just looks so nice and of course the gameplay is great.

The train size incompatibility with all the other Ticket to Ride maps out there is a huge killer for me. Skipping it this time, but it looks nice :)

I for one have never played ticket to ride, ( recently just got into board games, thanks Pandemic ), not including some rules is plain cheap, and you don't go for cheap in a Deluxe or Anniversary ed. Out of all of the things that I would want from an Anniversary or Deluxe edition would be actually including more maps, but that would ruin the franchise milking they're running. What's a slightly bigger concern is the fact that trains are "bigger" and might not well fit in the older maps/boards. I am glad I watched this review, because I will definitely not be getting this edition, because the fore-mentioned reasons. I find it's over-priced for what it offers with lack of compatibility ( train size ) and with that it seems to aim directly at the customers that already own the game and not new-buyers.

For someone like myself who does not own Ticket To Ride which version would you recommend as a beginner. I usually play with my 2 teens & or my parents. We just learned CATAN & Latice. I also just bought Time Steam but it hasn't arrived yet. I usually research each game before I purchase it via You Tube playthroughs, reviews & also Amazon customer reviews. My wish list has Just Desserts but I haven't purchased it yet.

As someone who likes (as opposed to really likes, or loves) Ticket to Ride, I have to admit that I'm slightly disappointed in this release. Not because it isn't a beautiful production, but merely because I had different expectations for it. I've been holding off on buying a copy of the game for myself simply because most everyone I'd play it with already owns it. So when I heard rumors of a 10th anniversary edition I thought it would be the perfect excuse to finally buy this game. Now that I've seen it, I just wish it weren't so big, and that it wasn't twice as expensive as the regular version.

I have to say that I've very disappointed in this edition. First--the insert is not well. It will not fit sleeved cards. Instead they use a large portion of the insert for score-markers--much larger than is needed. The box has plenty of room, but they just didn't think, or didn't care. Some people sleeve cards, some do not. It does NO HARM to the people who don't to provide another half inch of space for sleeved cards. Not including the full rules for 1910 is also careless. Just sloppy half-baked design for a very expensive special edition. If I pay a premium price for a special edition of a game--I should get a premium product that isn't short cut or missing anything, but that's exactly how I feel about this product. AAAH! Then an Plaid Hat Isaac Bomb at the End!
