Mr Chan, I met you when you went to my school and that was in the 70's, in my elementary year. You were so nice to the pupils and you even stopped and said hi to me and my friend. He’s my favorite! Very humble, very compassionate. A man who knows how to recognize our Lord God for all his blessings and he shares his blessings to others. He has been doing concerts for free for fund raising of churches, for sick people inPGH, and more! I hope to watch him again in a concert.

Miss Aster, ang tanda ko na talaga. When I was young (er) gustung-gusto ko naririnig sa radyo kapag pinapatugtog yung "Let's stop and talk awhile" at "Deep in my heart". I was in high school - late 80s. Feeling ko noon I am old soul already. Hanggang ngayon napapangiti pa din ako kapag naririnig ko si Joe Mari Chan sa radio or sa KZbin music. I watched Jo Mari Chan being interviewed in a TV show many years ago. In the course of the interview, tinanong siya kung ano pa ang mga songs na composed niya. Sinabi nga niya yung jingle ng commercial ng Knorr chinese soup daw. And then kapag ina-advertise nga sa TV yung Knorr soup, naiisip ko si Jo Mari Chan kumakanta sa palatastas sa TV.

It was a great interview. I am an avid fan of him. In 1978 I was on the step of my high school classmate's house going back to an afternoon class at school when I first heard him sing, "Can We Just Stop And Talk Awhile" I asked my classmate who was the singer and the rest is history. I purchased his CD and listened to it at home. I love his music and I am grateful for him sharing his talent.

I met him in person in 2017, he is such a good man, humble and sincere he would even ask you questions and show interest to his fans, which is such a rare gesture from an icon like him, and most of all, Filipino Christmas will always be associated with Sir JMC, he deserved recognition for his talent, passion and his heart for the OPM and Filipinos.

Jose Mari Chan is the father of OPM Christmas English Songs. 🎄💝 My childhood's Christmas memories wouldn't be complete without hearing his songs esp. Perfect Christmas, and Christmas In Our Hearts... I got so emotional, Idk why but it's out of joy emotions..I mean the best Christmas memories I had. The cool weather, cool wind, I had my playmates, of course bonding with my younger siblings while we're happy with the presents we received from our ninongs and ninangs eg. toys, box of candies, seasonal fruits, my mother preparing pang noche buena foods , spaghetti.. ube halaya, biko..the time she coming home from simbang gabi, early moring with bibingka, or putobumbong..I was just 6yrs old back then, but during the mass of Christmas eve, she brought us to church, afterwards she bring us to Nijaga Park, enjoy the Christmas theme decorations at the park, trying foods from the food stalls,.. the best one is when she never let it missed that we had a picture from the Santa Claus on that eve. 🥰 Then the time the early morning when I got a present from her a box of different special candies, and a piece of a green apple. Back then it was a luxury for us. Childhood Christmas memories. 🥹🥰

youre my 1st live concert i watched when i was 5 or 6 years old. My dad took me in your concert we were seated at the front row when you were in Cannery Dole philippines anniversary. You face lit up and i just stared at your face the whole time singing Beautiful Girl. Ahhhh now Im 43 years living in US, I never get tired listening to your iconic song Christmas in our hearts more than any classic christmas music. We enjoyed his songs since we were young and our time with him in Canada. We’ll always be one of his biggest fans.
