Thank you!! This short and simple video helped me update after troubleshooting other issues with my TicWatch E and the update not applying automatically, which it should. Currently it is named Wear OS because Google did a rebranding of Android Wear, but it worked all the same. I didn't need to unpair for it to work.

Tip for people having trouble to get the watch to update to Android wear 2.6 (I couldn't even find the 'Android wear - smartwatch' app, when searching in the playstore on the watch): Goto play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.wearable.app&hl=en&rdid=com.google.android.wearable.app, login to your account, choose install and you should be able to select your Ticwatch under devices. It installed directly after that on my watch. Just check that wifi is connected on the watch.

i don't think you need to unpair the watch before performing this update, but somehow the download speed is very slow...

Thanks for this video. The process is definitely not straightforward and it seems absurd that a factory reset downgrades the device. No other Android device works this way.

Hmm. Did you do a voice search and just say "Android Wear"? I just checked on mine and it was the first item that came back.

Nicolas Martinez I have no problems getting a day to a day and a half out of my watch. If I had it to do again I might go Ticwatch E so I could swap bands. I saw a user on the Facebook group that had a nice setup with a Nike band from an iPhone. Just my 2 cents. Also with the deal they have or had you can get it $10 cheaper than I bought mine in Kick Starter. I saw them for $128.

Hello, Have you been able to use the GPS without your phone. I have tried to go on two runs and it has not picked up the signal!

I actually just got back!!! I walked one mile and it worked! Before I left for my walk the watch pulled the GPS location from my phone. I left the phone at home and walked exactly one mile ( I know this based on my previous walks) and it was spot on. If you want I will try and make a video on it.

I used the Google Fit app and selected the activity of walking and just started the timer.
