Thank you for not laying music over the video of Laura shoveling snow. I love the sounds of the snow being lifted on the shovel, of the shovel scraping the brick, and the soft powdery snow falling from the shovel onto other snow. The entire sequence was calming, even meditative, and I love it! Thank you for helping us all see the beauty in our everyday tasks and surroundings.

With so much of their driveway having pea gravel, I suspect it doesn't make sense to plow much. That has to be hard to clear. Our driveway is concrete and we used to have an asphalt one. They were much easier to shovel down to the bare surface. Details people never think of if they don't live where it snows much. 😱🥶

That's true, although gravel is much better if you have ice and freezing rain. Gives you more traction.😊

Heated sidewalk is exactly where my mind was going! In our area (western NY) there are some people with really challenging, steep driveways, that heat the whole driveway. They pour concrete with heating elements in it. In certain situations it is almost a necessity. In your case, the main walkway you use every day would be such a luxury. Love how Russell found the path to the studio so quickly!

Enjoy the heightened winter interest from the snow. Northern Michigan (snowy!), I highly recommend the Garant Poly Sleigh shovel, no lifting, just scoop and push/pull the snow off . It’s been a back saver for me, on flat surfaces like pathways and deck. It’s a great gift, too, from Ace Hardware.

@@allison471 I’m just northwest of Traverse City and use it daily, but I’ve given at least 5 as gifts to family and friends (sometimes I have a $10 coupon from ACE). Even my son in Southfield mentioned how helpful it was, in addition to the snowblower, this past weekend. Only downside it I can’t use it on my Trex Deck, but I’ve wrapped the metal blade on an older one in about 8 layers of duct tap (and labeled “deck use only”) so I don’t scratch the surface. It works!

A small snowblower so Aaron can help would be a good thing😂. In the northeast, I started using a heavy duty leaf blower on pathways and my wrap around porch when we’ve had dryer snow, it will get you down to pavement in a hurry and be less treacherous for all and is fast. As long as you don’t let it build up more than a couple of inches it works great.
