I took some of my mom's clothes to Jobs plus .( These must be complete outfits and on hangers. ) Jobs plus takes these clothes and donates them to women that are going out to the work force looking for jobs for the first time that have been through tough situations,etc . This really helps when you have interviews and such. Having to come up with the money for new outfits when first starting out or over is out of the question because money is needed for bills,rent ,food and children. Some clothes went to a women's shelter and the rest went to Goodwill. Felt good to help out. Mom had some nice outfits that she did not wear for a long time but untill she was In Hospice she got up and got dressed , it. In a bit of jewelry and always had her lipstick on even though she was blind. I joked with her one day that I could be laying out a plaid shirt with purple polka dot shorts for her to wear and she wouldn't even know it. I miss her so much...

The closet does look a lot better however just a little food for thought. It might have been better to organize the hanging clothes by color that way it's easier to find the red top in the red section as opposed to looking all around seeing red everywhere. Another tip its good to invest in velvet hangers. (Target 25 for $10) Your clothes keep their shape better than wire hangers and plastic which leaves bumps or imprints in you clothes especially knit items.

She's a shopper, that's for sure! 😉 Nice organizing though! Just a thought...as I've grown older, I feel so much peace in not being the consumer I was in my 20s. Looking back, I wish I would NOT have bought so much "stuff." I could have saved so much money for my later years in retirement. I could have a brand new car now, decades later (single parent on a public school teacher's salary). I also want to help the environment and not leave such a big footprint of pollution now. I own 3 purses. That's it--a fancy elegant one, a daily-use one, and a cool leather Boho one. I own 3 pairs of boots, 1 pair of sneakers, 2 beachy flip flops, 1 nice pair of dressy sandals, 2 pairs of house slip-ons, 1 pair of fancy black high heels, and 1 pair of black ballerina flats suitable for many occasions. I have enough. If I ever need special shoes for a wedding or something, I figure I can get them as needed, but no more buying on a whim and having 100 shoes I never wear (the much younger me--LOL). But that's just me nowadays. I'd rather spend my money in other ways now...not on acquiring things I don't really need. But definitely am not knocking others' lifestyles. To each her own.🌺😁👍🏾🌺

@@carolquella257 i agree! I cannot believe she clogged up the front of those ‘purse’ shelves with the shoe rack! Why not move the bottom rack up an inch and put those shelves underneath and the rest of the shoes on those racks.The purses should be above the clothes and the clothes should definitely have been color co-ordinated. Since she had different colored hangers, it would be easy to hang warm clothing on one heavy on another. It may be tider but it certainly isn’t organized.

I suggest talking to Kaitlyn about her posture. Years of that and it will change the shape of her spine, give her back and neck problems. My grandma had to get her neck fused due to bad posture or run the risk of being paralyzed. If her ears do not line up over her shoulders, it's time to take her to the chiro for regular treatments and retrain her to stand and sit up straight.

OP's Special Needs Child. Tires easily, likes to help. So quick to judge...
@rlolo7773 жыл бұрын
@@howlingwaters2741 who is judging? I'm mentally astute enough to know she is special needs. Doesn't mean she shouldn't get chiropractic care. Special needs kids are usually really good about doing what they are supposed to when they know there is a problem, for example, doctors orders. She is young enough, that if she starts getting care, the damage can be reversed in time. She might need a lot of reminding, but since she spends a lot of time with her mom, it seems, that wouldn't be a problem, as long as her mom stays consistent with it. As someone with scoliosis and has literally taught special needs kids how to run, I'm just pointing it out for the OP to choose to do something about it if she wants to. You'd be surprised how much posture effects your back in time. I see people everyday with such horribly crooked backs cuz of years and years of bad posture compiling on top of itself. It only gets worse unless you do something about it. You can't do something about it unless you're aware of the problem, and bringing awareness is not judging anyone.

Oh dear that’s all I could think of too! If it’s a medical condition I feel so sorry for her but she really really needs a back strap to straighten her shoulders & back or she’ll end up in a permanent metal brace. Also I wonder if she buys the clothes without trying them on then when she gets home she sees how awful they look with her bad posture & is too embarrassed to return them? Please do something with your posture & your self-esteem will soar because your clothes will look beautiful on you, which will remove your need to keep buying all of this excess stuff: shoes bags & clothes to try to help you feel better. See a doctor about your posture & a therapist about your self esteem & clothes hoarding. Good luck 😊 I’ve just read that this dear girl has special needs. My own daughter has cerebral palsy & has a tendency to hoard clothes. Plus I noticed that a lot of her bags, shoes, boots & other things were either very similar or the same colour. It flashed in my mind that this is what my daughter does too. At one stage she had about 8 pairs of black shoes & a million black tops & black dresses; it was ridiculous! She was volunteering in a charity shop & the older ladies would put clothes aside for her which she would buy. Since COVID she’s had quite a lot of clearing out but unfortunately her sister & I have introduced her to online shopping-BIG mistake 😂 She had spare money after her savings & she was bored so I let her go for a while but only on my phone so I could check every purchase & go through why she needed things that might have been too expensive. She’s having so much fun now organising her wardrobe & maintaining her clothes but she’s going crazy because it’s still too dangerous to go out yet (even in beautiful Australia) & of course she wants to wear her new clothes out. I’m glad that’s the only problem she’s got actually (besides her disability). Both of my daughters were never allowed to slouch & neither was I actually. My mother would always say “back straight “ or “don’t slouch”. As a young teen I noticed how the models would stand perfectly straight in the magazines. Maybe this young lady could get some fashion magazines from charity shops & study those for posture & co-ordinating her wardrobe? She obviously loves fashion but she needs some guidance, that’s all. Good luck everyone 😊

I personally tried KonMari as well and I agree with you. The idea behind it is great, where you see everything in one category so you know you may have too much, but getting through the order was a pain. I like this he combination of Konmari and old fashioned decluttering.
@Swakara14 жыл бұрын
In this case, the KON MARI method would be overwhelming with the amount of stuff she has. Taking everything out of the closet at once would be a monumental task; it would be easier to do it in sections, shoes one day, bags another day, t-shirts etc. Subdivide. She obviously likes fashion so i would imagine that she likes to add new pieces all the time. Apply the one in, one out rule to keep the clutter under control. Decluttering is an ongoing process anyway.

It's an improvement, no doubt, but my OCD self is going nuts wanting to dig in and color code and/or evenly fold everything and get some matching hangers in there. Just a tip... I've found ultra slim velvet hangers are not only easier on your clothes and keep them on the hanger and off the floor, but aren't very expensive at all if you order on the Walmart app and do a pick up (if able. If not, they do ship).. and it's like $10 for a 30 pack. Which is only 30 cents a hanger. So worth it. If you have a large closet, it does get prices. I buy in them batches of 2-3 and I've now transitioned my three closets to fully velvet hangers and I can fit much more in the closets while still looking nice.

my husband complained that I had too many shoes. I have a total of about 8 pairs for all year 'round. My hanging closet is exactly 1.5 meters wide. Every year come Mid Autumn & mid Spring I sort out everything that I DID NOT wear all that previous Summer or Winter season and that stuff goes to good-will/op-shops. If I didn't wear it that past Season, what's the point of putting it away NOT to wear it next Season? Everything else goes into storage for next year. Then I sort out clothes for the coming Winter/Summer season. What still fits me, goes on hangers and into drawers. The rest goes to Good-will/op-Shops. Sorting my clothes in this way leaves me feeling like I'm not hoarding or hanging on to things 'just in case I need it!' I keep the FLOW going - new stuff in, old stuff out. And if I come across something that I like, that's not too expensive, I don't feel guilty about buying it, because if I DON'T WEAR IT, it get's recycled at the end of the Season.

In your mind if you'r seeing it all year round you think 'oh that old thing'. Also moths, etc are more easily controlled in a confined space locked away. So it's not just space, it's aesthetics.
