Thanks for posting this design…love it! I made one like this using mostly the same colors, except deep yellow instead of banana, oxblood instead of fuchsia, and Power berry + raven in the last section. A friend said “stunning” when she saw it, but she did not see your version which I think is better because of the fuchsia, and your grape/amethyst section pops more. I will try again once the FedEx guy brings the fuchsia 😉

Do you think that the on-ice dyes did a lot? Seems like most of the color came from the on-shirt/under-ice application. Great result very bright and happy. I love your stuff I tried a twist on your incline twists.

The incline is to produce the "rays".

You never disappoint! I have only done layers of dye because I didn’t get enough saturation; THIS is pure genius! I’m afraid, however, I’m not familiar with “Crappy Black.” 🧐

"Kinda Crappy Black" was a color available from Grateful Dyes for a short time about a year ago.

Can u do this with liquid dye? I don't have any of the powder dye & can u use the ice with liquid dye??
@fabricmagic6783 жыл бұрын
You can, but you get softer results, and without the neat color separation. Then again, the colors used here didn't seem to separate a lot. If you have the option to use fairly concentrated liquid colors, I would try that in order to not end up with pastels.
@CasualCollisions3 жыл бұрын
You can; but, as Ilex said, the results are not the same. Ice dyeing allows the component colors of the dye to split out at a different rate than each other versus liquid dyeing over ice where you're simply creating less saturated/pastel colors. There will still be some "incline bleed"; but, it's a softer result.

@susangirardi36552 жыл бұрын
Are you saying crappy black?
@CasualCollisions2 жыл бұрын
Yes. "Kinda Crappy Black" was a specific color that Grateful Dyes had available for a few months. They sell "odd" colors from time-to-time - probably due mixing errors or new color tests.
