The higher the cotton content, the faster and better the outcome will be. 100% cotton works best. The sweatshirt looks great!

Quynh Ho you’re quarantine chic!!! I had a similar result. Though I’d rather it have come out as cool as your pants. I literally got a charcoal gray mess when I tried to beach dye a black shirt yesterday. 😂 It must be the original makeup of the material.

the sweater looks awesome! tried some bleach tie dye as well and for me it works best with pure bleach on dry clothes. with every drop of water the chemical reaction gets slower. and i think you get better resulta if you dont put bleach all over it. better make some spots with and without bleach. you could also use a toothbrush and sprinkle it over. some of my stuff turned out great, but had also a sweatpant that doesnt work. think because its to much polyester in it. who knows :-))

Check the labels. The sweatpants are made out of a different percentage of fabric. The top probably had more cotton. The bottoms must have a lot of man made materials, like polyester or nylon. Don't blame yourself, you did well.

It depends on the fabric content are the joggers 100% Cotton or is it mixed with polyester because that makes a difference

I've tried doing the pants, also from H&M, several times and none of them turned orange :( I would not recommend bleaching over it, it will turn out faded and look more camo than tie dye. I bought 4 kids sets (also from H&M) and 3 of them turned out amazing. I have yet to do the 4th but I'm hoping the top and bottoms will match, so all the kids have matching sets. As for mine... I'm settling for what I have. I made sure the compositions were the same and that they were from the matching line... I dunno why the pants are turning out different. It could be that the base of the pants are more grey or brown while the tops have a red undertone. I tried the pants 3 times, from different lines from H&M and just 1 came close to my hoodie...

😞 sorry for your experience. Idky the adult pants are like that. But you might be right it’s the base color they mix to dye the black on the adult vs the children’s and it could be from different batches of dye as well. Also, maybe the material 100% on the adult is dirent than the kids? Also I do think they added way more black mix of dye to the sweater top than the joggers
