The tie Silencer and whisperer also had a cloaking device. The major upgrade the Whisperer had was its enhanced jamming suite along with its rotary turret on the bottom of the ship. Both are vastly different ships as the Silencer is a more durable ship with more shielding as a frontline ace fighter to where the whisperer was a fantastic infiltration and terror ship.

Good coverage, but the two ships are definitely different ships altogether; they do share a lot of the same traits but one did not become the other, it was a complete manufacture of a new ship

They are different ships physically, I will grant you that, but the Whisper is essentially an upgraded model of the Silencer, since the majority of the systems were directly carried over to the new ship. It is a little confusing since they don't look quite the same but share nearly all the same systems. Good catch!

@@hyperspacedatabase actually the to ships are completely different as the whisper lack the heavy laser canons and torpedos as well as being less well shielded from what I’ve seen the whisper was created to be a cheaper replacement of the silencer as it was to expensive to mass produce and it’s main manufacturing plant was destroyed that being the supremacy similar to what happened to the tie defender.

The Whisper is basically a modified First Order Interceptor, while the Silencer is a fully custom ship.

I think the tie whisper got an extra seat for a gunner because it has a turret and the back looks exactly like the tie special forces

I much prefer the Silencer, I have the Revell model of it, but would love the force link version, I just got the TIE whisper yesterday from Mission Fleet, its probably the best ship aside from the Razor Crest in that line

Don’t like dinsey, don’t care for the Rey character, haven’t been interested watching a SW film since R1, don’t like ABY, and really only care for Legends - your average, grumpy, old SW fan. So, with that, Rey’s twisty at slicing the wing off the Silencer was pretty impressive…definitely a Satele move. Still some criticisms, but they’re undoubtedly due to biases - I’ll just enjoy the clip for the eye candy it is.

What kills me is how they just show the First Order losing Resurgent after Resurgent. Hell even EWOKS killed one as was shown. Lol. I just cannot get over how badly they just wrapped up the First Order. It wasn’t right. I mean look at the tech they have?

really hated the sequels ships design. 30 years have passed since ROTJ, and yet minimal or no changes at all to the x-wing, tie fighter etc designs. but i have to admit the tie silencer was really well made. the coolest looking ship in the sequels imo.

One thing I really wished they would've done better for sure. There are so may awesome designs that still would give that classic feel while being fresh and new. Take the e-wing for the x-wing for example. I do agree though, the tie silencer was cool.

Yeah, the E-wing looks great in ahsoka. Hopefully more new ships in future series. Thats what i like about the prequels, every vehicle designs were original and unique, while still paying homage to OT designs

@@hyperspacedatabaseugh, the E-wing? When I first saw it I thought it was some obscure Rendilli design for the early Republic…20-some thousand years ago. I do wish the X-Wing had better variations than a black paint job. Aesthetically, I’d have enjoyed better proportions between the engines and airframe, upper and lower wing-mounted hard points, a rear facing turret guided by the astromech, air-to-air missiles, two-seaters for dedicated ground attack variants to replace the Y-Wing as well as EW and Recon missions…oops, sorry - forgot for a second this was a TIE Silencer episode 😮

Y~up! From movie lore, Darth Vader’s TIE evolved into the Interceptor & the TIE/vn pulled the same thing, @@hyperspacedatabase. Kylo’s TIE was tested, data collected, information transferred, & the Prototype craft suffered the same fate as Vader’s hence, because First Order TIEs were now hyperspace capable, Kylo had to use the more mass produced/non-prototype versions of the TIE/vn… Come March 32nd OR November 0 (zero), I wanna see your original Ugly starfighter or whatever…

The Silencer is so much cooler, the TIE Whisper suffers from the same problem as most First Order designs in that it looks like a copy paste of an Empire vehicle.

This video is wrong. 1. There was a star fighter called the" tie whisper. It has enhanced stealth and hyperdrive systems. " 2."Kylo Ren had a modified tie whisper he desired more fire power modified into a fast Interceptor model. With extended hyperspace transit and stealth operations equipped." So basically kylo ren's episode 9 ship is a tie whisper cockpit attached to Interceptor wings called a modified tie whisper. In the sequel trilogy people may not notice the differences with some first order tie fighters. Tie whisper is in episode 9. Information i've used comes from the episode 9 visual dictionary.

I see that I did not specify very well in this video that they are separate ships, but the Tie Whisper was basically the updated version of the Tie Silencer. The Tie Silencer was a prototype model whose data was used on later fighters, like the Whisper. Sadly, the visual dictionaries are riddled with inaccuracies, just go to their individual wookieepedia pages and take a look.

Man, the TIE Whisper is such an uninspired and derivative design. I mean for TLJ's *many* faults, the art direction was not one of them, and vehicles such as the AT-M6 and TIE Silencer showed how to *really* modernise and update a classic design, alas, ROS went back to the "just give it a new lick of paint" philosophy.

Actually actually kylo ren's episode 9 ship is a modified tie whisper he took cockpit from a tie whisper to have stealth and extended hyperdrive attached it to Interceptor wings because he desired more fire power. Actually tie whisper are in episode 9 (but they don't look much different to other first order ties) and information about the two ships is in the visual dictionary for the film.
