Glamping at Under Canvas and Trip to the Grand Canyon

Join us on our trip, glamping it up at Under Canvas for the first time and then a wonderful trip to the Grand Canyon! We had a lot of questions about what glamping would be like, how far apart would the tents be from one another? Would we be driving on paved or unpaved roads? What about indoor plumbing? So I deliberately made this a very slow visit with a good look around at everything. Minimal VoiceOver for the most part. Some people may want to skip through some parts to get to parts they find more interesting. The first 3 minutes are arriving at UnderCanvas and a look through the common areas, then arriving to our tent. From 3:13 to about 6:53 we explore the inside of our tent. The we drink entirely too much wine and just hang out and enjoy the vibe until about 9:53. Which brings us to the next day as Howard asks me about the trip so far and asks me for details of our very fun but not sober night before! At 11:49 we are off to breakfast in the common area and then walk back to our car. Then it's off to the Grand Canyon at 13:09 with a drive through the beautiful Arizona high country and a fat squirrel leads us to the immense, majestic beauty of the Grand Canyon, where we enjoy a picnic with one heck of a view! Then the rains come and keeps us inside our cozy tent at 16:48 where we light a fire and just spend a few minuets enjoying the sound of rain and the crackling of the fire. Off to dinner and fireside S'Mores in the rain at 18:29 and then we head off to Las Vegas for the next part of our vacation. Thank you for coming along on our first trip glamping!

And did you feel that your possessions were secure, with no real "walls"? P.S. Sorry to hear about Howard's injury. I've been there and it's so unpleasant -- but fixable!

Great question! We used a small padlock from our suitcase to secure the zippers to the tent, so yes, we felt secure. He is healing up! Thank you!

I feel the same way Rosy. Maybe we´re not adventurous, but I took a three weeks trip, before Covid, with my husband, and we went to Rome, Venice, Greek Islands, Turkey and Croatia. We did stay in five stars hotels, but of course, Europe´s five stars hotels are three stars hotels here, nevertheless I couldn´t wait to get back to my comfy bed. Home Sweet Home.

Dear Monique, I’ve been away from your channel. Well all channels actually. It’s been a really sad time for me. I had my Precious Furbaby who was almost 18 years old. He became almost completely blind. Was very scared as I can just imagine.He had been with me since he was almost 6 months old.I had lost my last baby. She was 20 and I was like you know. I’m done. I cannot handle another loss. Then in a most unexpected way. My Aunts were talking at Church after service. There was a distant cousin to our family.,whose brother was dying of Cancer it was detected too late to treat. He had adopted this little rascal. His last concern was to find his baby a forever home.So this was the topic after Church Service. Well of course it was. Yes our niece has just lost her Precious Furbaby. She loves her babies and treats them better than most treat there children. So this was how I became his Mom. I didn’t want any more heartbreak however!! I also,did not want this little Furbaby to be losing his Dad to,this deadly disease. So I had this goi g over and over in my mind. Ok it would be the kindest thing I could due for him as he was dying and yet was so worried about his baby finding a forever home. So I could due 2 things for him. So I said ok and that eased his mind so he could focus on the time he had left. After it was all settled. I know the universe knew I needed this as much as he needed it. So my new baby needed the love and I did as well yet was unaware of how much so.He was so protective of me and make no doubt he bonded to me even tho I had my bff who lived with us. Yet this particular Furbaby did not bond to any other of his kind.I tried to since I worked to find him a play mate another baby about the same age. Yet they didn’t get along. Then I adopted another it was a retired K-9 beautiful German Shepard yet he stayed outside in his luxury Doggy Condo. Yet he loved to stay under it rather than in it.I could have saved the 500 dollars because it was a d still,is in good shape. Because Jupiter passed several years ago. This pandemic has been really hard on my family.I lost my 2 cousin who was also my next door neighbor who had just lost her husband. Whom she met and married after she was in her 60’s they were married almost 5 years when he passed. Heart failure. We grew very very close. She had found the love she had wanted as well as needed. She said many times it may have taken all those years of living through her first marriage to a abusive man who was military. They traveled all over the World. Yet she really never enjoyed it yet she had been given 3 Sons whom she loved. She was struck down with COvid. Yet she survived almost a month in the hospital. When she did get to come home she had Lost over 40 lbs. which she didn’t need to lose that much. Maybe 10 so she was so weak. Developed an ulcer that was bad and she could not eat. So a temporary feeding tube had to be done. She survived the surgery. Was so glad to have it so she could regain her weight and strength. I was so happy she had made it. Then 2 days later she passed. I was heartbroken. As we were not on,y cousins we were like sisters.Then her younger contracted the Virus he was not feeling well at her viewing. Well he passed away a week latter he was 62. So on December 5 2021 I had to have my oldest of the 3 of my Furbabies be given eternal rest. Then fast forward 2 weeks I lost my ex husband who was also my best friend. He was staying with me and my boyfriend who was also,his best friend. He passed on Christmas Eve. So here I was with my 2 youngest ones we adopted in 2017 March 1 st. I can say this for anyone who doesn’t believe how intelligent our animal’s are.They feel and they grieve I think. More so than most people.So in this pandemic I’ve lost about 10 family members.,So I’ve been away from almost all Social Media.So you can imagine how surprised to see Howard sitting there with you doing a video. It warmed my tired heart. I am so overjoyed for,you. I can see the way he looks at you and you him so much love. It’s hard to find a partner who loves you for who you are are. I enjoyed listening to the two of you answering all the questions about finding love after 50. Yet I know it can and does I have an Aunt who has been widowed for about 15 years. She is in her mid eighties. Yes her mid 80’s. She got married in a small Ceremony at the families Church. Last year. I ran into,them at the local hardware store 3 weeks ago and they were so,darn cute.She looks as if she has reversed her age by 10 years or more. Her nusbamd is almost 90. They have been living their best life since getting married. So for all,the Ladies and of course Gentlemen as well,it can happen.So Altho,it’s too late to summit a question. I due have one maybe you and Howard could answer. Today has been 6 years that I’ve been in a relationship with my bf.I am too a point that I am ready to shut and lock the doors to my heart.I can say he loved me and everyone he is around will say it’s true. Yet we are having a very hard issue.I’ve never had a issue with a man who wants to to have a cocktail. It’s kool. However it’s gotten way out of hand. I mean his health wise as well as he is having b,ackluts a d cannot remember anything when this occurs. Compared to the type,of man I have always dated or even married. He is 5’8 tall.was at about 180 lbs.Which was a really good weight for him.It was muscle not fat. Well he had to,have a lot of dental,work.that he hated as he had always had nice teeth. Yet his gums were infected so,he had to,have Dentures.He went into a downward spiral.. He became depressed could not eat. Had many complications he was is a very attractive man. Who went to College studied drama,acting and had some success he was talented. Then after.College he went into a e timely different field of work. Yet he has always been a man whose appearance means so much to him and this blindsighted him.It wasn’t cheap by any means. He wanted Dental,Implamts yet was unable due to bone loss.So he became severely depressed refuses to see a Therapist. He has lost about 40 lbs. I cannot wrap my head around the fact he can drink yet he couldn’t eat any kind kf foods no matter what I tried.Thankfully in the last 3 months his appetite has returned. Yet he is still drinking so much. Of course his entire family cannot stand me. His 2 daughters ma,e the rules if I am anywhere around they refuse to be.To myself it’s ridiculous. As they are both adult women with children.,so it puts us both I. A very bad place.He after several different occurrences just told them. Hey I love her and we are going to be together so you need to stop all this Cz stuff. She didn’t have anything to,due with my Divorce. His ex cleaned him out.Yet even had the nerve to have a special clause put into their divorce contract that even if he remarried his wife doesn’t have the right to claim his Widows pension. Because she knew he would have to return to work and so his death benefits would increase . I’ve honestly never seen anything like this.Neither has the 3 attorneys we hired to look at their marriage contract.,I could never be so horrid to anyone.So I apologize for,this being so long yet I feel,you would truly care.
