Hey, I've been going through a lot of the videos in your how to get better at mortal kombat series and they're all great videos but im just wondering what should a novice player focus on and practice first. All of your videos are full of great information but as someone who is familiar with a lot of the terms but is unable to apply them in a practical way, it can be overwhelming to know whats important to practice now and what will be easier to understand later. I recommend looking at a video I have at how to break down a character I did this with Quan chi and reptile. You need to learn your strings and the importance of them and why you should use them. Understanding block pressure as well is very very important. It’s a lot I’ll definitely have to make a video so you guys can understand

As a day one nitara player I agree for the most part how ever the point I somewhat disagree is her matches and she doesn’t have a lot of “bad” match ups, now in my opinion and experience from playing her in kombat league and getting to elder god with her since season two and god rank for season one and completing with her and playing other high level players in my region ( the OCE ) that nitara has a lot of bad match ups or at least characters that she struggles against, Like li mei with her lanterns and her air projectile as well as sub zero with his ice clone and out ranging her in his strings, Kitana since she can lock nitara on the ground and prevent her from air dashing and just overall out ranging her, radien because he can low profile her wake up with F43 into special and land a full combo an catching her when she try to pressure with his DB2 and that catches her dive kick to name a few characters but also as well as up blocks a big deal in terms of versing against her and if you up block her B2 she can’t special cancel and she becomes fully punishable as well as she can be easily out zoned if the opponent baits her air dashing and her dive kicks but I don’t want to make this to long to read how ever again i just want to make it clear I’m saying this with nothing but respect and I’m curious on what your opinion is And other then that I 100% agree with you on everything else

I played the reiko /nitara matchup…. How does reiko keep her out of the air? His s4 doesn’t always clip her in the air and his stars can zone her but more often than not her dive kick will punish reiko players for throwing them out.

Solid video. 90% of people speaking on who is top tier or low tier don't have any grasp of what makes a character strong in this game. I think Johnny is good, but a player with weak fundamentals won't get far with Johnny. A player doesn't need fundies to play with Baraka/Kano. When your entire gameplan is based around string into braindead chip sequence or poke into braindead chip sequence into plus frames from Kano knives, you really don't need to play footsies.
