Tried Our Best is incredible. The soulful harmonies man. You want old Drake, that’s old Drake. It’s not an album with cheap, catchy, pop hooks like “In My Feelings” or “One Dance.” Its real and Tried My Best has incredible production. The Ooooos at the end, the old school bass line and progression with singing Drake. Tried Our Best is the most Take Care song he’s made in a long time.

This album is solid. It’s up there with Her Loss. Drake’s albums have always gotten hate at the beginning though. I remember when Take Care dropped people were trashing it too. They’re high effort and he catches all the pockets on those songs. These are rap heavy, high energy, hungry Drake. I cannot see how you can listen to these songs and say he sounds monotone or bored.
