I’m so used to watching modded playthroughs that I genuinely forgot how few units are actually in the vanilla game.

Thanks for the comment. Agreed, the selection is really limited. Practically 1 new unit per tech level :)

By the time you get infiltrators - you should be able to beat the Imps in space ... so there is no need for raids. Snowspeeders - do not make more then 2 per attack army ... anything more is overkill. A-wings - they are S-tiere in fighter based fleets. X-Wings - good allrounder. Y-wings - bombers are usefull. Fighters are overall the backbone of the rebel fleet - that or corvett based fleets. Try combining the gunships with the corvetts, its a nasty combination. Get in, do demage and get out with minimal loses. Assault ships - not worth the investment. Nebulan-B - S-tier. You get them fast and they can punsh way above there weight. Yes, they are weaker then the big capitals, but you can have MORE. Starcruser - At best OK. To costly, to late and to easy to destroy.

Fuck! Plex trooper, the artillery, and that bloody T4 tank with rockets on I was invading Mon Calamari and the rebel AI player killed at least 100 different units of mine because they kept being those and just spawn killing me. 😢 finally just nuked the planet with the Death Star

Yea, they are a rather annoying combo. Perhaps they had time to think if the resistance they put up was necessary when the Death Star entered the system :D Thanks for the comment.

My experiences are based on mp skirmish so maybe im wrong for campaign, but I find fighters indispensible. A corvette costs 1250, slightly more than 4 squadrons of x wings. A corvette has a damage of 20, this means it takes 3 shots to kill a tie, or 21 to kill a squadron. Each x wing does 5 per shot with no overkill. so 20 x wings will deal with the tie fighter squadron in 3.5 average shots each for the full squadron. In terms of durability discounting regen, x wings have a base health+shield of 70 each, for 1400 total. The corvette is at 1350. This is just base stats of course, personally I find the vulnerabilities to be what makes or breaks which one I go for, be it capital ships (fighters) or artillery ships (cruisers)

Thanks for the interesting comment. A good point. I guess I have had my fighters blown off the sky several times too many by a Corvette or missile cruiser :D
