These ninja dudes are just cruising the river one day, on their way through ninja land, then BOOM! Johnny Thunder is there around the next bend plotting his maps. Epic showdown ensues.

Despite this set having just over 100 pieces, some of them are surprisingly rare these days. For example, this is the second of seven sets to have the 2x3/45 degree roof tile in blue, after the "Planetary Prowler" (6919) set from "Insectoids" the year before. The 2x3/25 degree roof title in the same color was retired in 2013, yet I never had a single set with it. The gem stones in those colors were only retired five years ago, with the fluorescent green ones being what I had the most of. The 1x1 "nose cone" in transparent yellow was retired nine years after this, and I happen to have three of the 60 sets with it (7418, 7783, and 7786). Even more interestingly, the 1x4 "palisade" brick in black was actually exclusive to this them, only appearing in three sets from it. Even the standard 6x14 plate in black was retired just last year after 26 years of production.
@TieTheLegoGuy3 жыл бұрын
Hey hmm didn't know alot of this, I always thought the palisade in black was pretty rare but had no idea it was that rare. Honestly kinda crazy they'd make it for only 3 sets
@colinroberts20603 жыл бұрын
@@TieTheLegoGuy Definitely, but it is actually not the rarest color of it. That title is held by the piece in dark grey, which appeared in only two sets which were from "Ninja", and in "medium lavender" where it was a "one set wonder".

I feel the same...a decent inclusion in the old Ninja theme. I'm not very familiar with theme yet, which is something I appreciate about your Old School Wednesday videos...often seeing stuff I'm not as familiar with. I hadn't looked into or sought out anything from this theme yet and until a few months ago only had a couple random figures/parts I've gotten from used hauls. Then I scored (I know, no surprise at this point, and I worry that I sound like I'm bragging haha), but I got a nearly complete 6093: Flying Ninja Fortress (1998) for few dollars (a big bag with a couple other sets for $8.99 I think). It was missing most of the minifigures and a fairly small number of parts. I've been slowly getting the missing parts as I place bricklink orders. I think I initially needed somewhere in the $30-40 range of parts/figures (don't exactly remember), but I just ran my missing parts list as it stands and currently down to about $15 in parts. I'm super stoked to have scored this for next to nothing and being able to complete it for a reasonable price. I think complete used sets go for $150-200 on Bricklink. I pulled up the Ninja theme on Brickset and this set is the biggest in the theme (I didn't realize that until now, other than knowing it was a large set). So I guess why not start with the largest haha. I'd definitely welcome some more Classic Ninja sets to go with it...especially if I can get a deal. I'm so going to miss the thrift store deals when I move in a few months. It'll have to be more ebay I guess. While I've gotten great ebay deals, nothing compared to the thrift stores hauls. I guess I should look at the positives, I'll have more time to sort, build, display my collection now that there will be far less used LEGO coming in haha.
@TieTheLegoGuy4 жыл бұрын
Dude thats a great deal! I was able to snag mine for a similar amount (incomplete ebay purchase and got the rest off of bricklink) and just find the thrifts stores where you're moving to. Knowing you, you'll find em 😉

@@TieTheLegoGuy i must admit, i can see that castle, Western, pirates etc. isn't as popular with kids like it was back in our day. So I can understand that they don't have the themes as extensive as they had back in the 80s and 90s. However one single line with historic themes that changes every year to a new historic era would be good to have (And sell better than lego trolls, im sure)
