@G Forcke Ms. Peretti (she died March 2021 at age 80) has been famous since 1969. Before Tiffany & Co. went exclusive with her designs, she designed pieces of jewelry for Halston, and before that, she designed jewelry for clothing designer Giorgio Sant' Angelo. I have Elsa Peretti pieces that go back to 1972. She has been a household name in US fashion since the early 1970s.

My grandparents were Tiffany & Co collectors. They had pieces from every collection ever produced. After granny passed my parents gave us kids the collections. I received the Peretti Collection. It is proudly displayed in a cabinet in the dining room. My mother gave my wife granny's 24k/2.2ct Tiffany dinner ring (circa 1920s). I was jealous so I bought myself a Tiffany ball chain and oval Return To dog tag necklace. I still wear it everyday. My wife wears 'the boulder' every New Years Eve party. You could say Tiffany & Co is part of the family around here.

By accident I found a peretti thumbprint bowl. It is lovely when displayed, but shines with design genius when put to use: whether lifting or putting down, it is secure with one hand. No awkward hooking your thumb over into the bowl. Amazing.i never knew (even though it says Elsa Peretti in the bottom).

Lovely tribute to a glorious Italian female artist. Elsa was able to live many lives and was part of the last movement of the 1960’s pop art movement that exploded to power by the 1980’s. Involving a hodgepodge of photographers, painters, sculptors, dancers, models, fashion designers, milliners, jewelry, interior designers these people were able to move with great flow through the globe. In a postwar environment that had become in obstructive after the 1950’s the boundaries opened up globally. Suddenly Europe, Asia and the America’s were connected. When real estate was inexpensive and the cost of living simplistic all of these arts were supplemented by enormous charities arts endowments, social patronage that benefitted that generation. They received everything possible. And their work was incredibly colorful and sensually vibrant. Peretti was a glamorous example of that international connection in the late 20th c . A pathway that was created for art and women like herself in subsequent generations.

TIFFANY'S IN NEW YORK HAD CASES AND CASES OF JEWELRY. I LOVED THAT SHOP. ALSO THE ONE IN BEVERLY HILLS. BUT MY BORROWED GOLD MASSERATI WAS TOWED IN 2 SECONDS FLAT...FOR PARKING RIGHT IN FRONT. THEY WOULD NEVER HAVE DONE THAT IN BEVERLY HILLS TO ME...WHERE I WAS FROM. I WAS PRETTY SHOCKED. I HAD A 'LOOK OUT', HONEY HOWARD, CLIVE DAVIS'S NIECE..AT THE DOOR..EVERY FIVE MINUTES CHECKING ON IT. BUT THEY WERE QUICK...AFTER ABOUT A HALF HOUR IN THE STORE. AND THEY WRECKED MY TRANSMISSION DOING IT. JACKASSES...THEY SHOULD KNOW A STICK SHIFT IS LEFT IN FIRST GEAR TO SET IT.

@@ShogunHull If you parked in front of Tiffany's in New York, yes, they would tow your car away, gold Maserati or not. And they wouldn't care if you were from Beverly Hills or Timbuktu. Who the hell do you think you are to imagine that you can get away with it? Jackass!
