This piece is like the ups and downs of one's life. Words cannot describe the kinds of feelings that go through me when I watch someone play this. The first time I've watched a live performance of this was in Warsaw with full of tears. It was truly incredible

This is what separates a good or even great player from a world class player - the expression, the feeling, the interpretation, the shaping of the notes, which here Tiffany has in spades and takes us with her on to another planet...💜🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹

In order to play like Tiffany you must follow these steps. 1) Become a level 10 Paladin. 2) Ask God to grant you extremely good piano skills. 3) Cast a spell on your hands to make them too blazing fast for modern technology to keep up with. 4) Practice. 5) Repeat all of these steps 1,234,567,890 times. Now you can play like Tiffany.

I really admire her version of the piece most likely due to the fact that something is just inherently different by the way it is played. Not in the notes but rather, the intensity of emotion. Nonetheless whenever I am stressed out during a tournament set/match I'll always put this on and will instantly be calm. Excellent performance. Can't wait to listen to more of the Chopin songs you perform. ^^

TokyoKami Tiffany is brilliant, and lacks no emotion...perhaps she is just that disciplined and still sounds fantastic. And btw, calling Chopin masterpieces a "song"...shame on you....
@TokyoKami
@TokyoKami 9 жыл бұрын
ZackATTACK42 Ahh but of course. When Chopin is your favorite musical composer and you've listened to nearly all his works of beauty am I not allowed to call his masterpieces, true works of art? I mean look at our eras popular "music" I wouldn't dare call anything produced today "songs". To me the word song has the connotation that it is something of art, something that can truly be appreciated, understood, and felt. Sure in my opinion all Chopin's songs are masterpieces, but if I know as such why dull the word masterpiece? Let's stick to my complimenting of the pianist rather than shaming me due to word choice. Shame on you for not knowing my connotation of the word "song". haha :) (Just teasin')

+ZackATTACK42 Sometimes if someone uses translation because they are not efficient in English, the translation will call it a song...just like Google translation sometimes don't differentiate he from she. I play this piece and I think she has the temperament to play this. I enjoyed it. But if you know the score, she made a lot of mistakes.
@TokyoKami
@TokyoKami 8 жыл бұрын
English is an interesting language for me as it is tied for Euro-Portuguese as my native tongue although due to primary school I quickly was forced, in essence to forget Euro-Portuguese and further my English skills. To not deviate from the point of this thread, the use of the word "song" is subjective to my own connotation.

Impressive musicality !Her Prok 3rd Sonata I'm sure she will play differently now :seems too feroce (is that even possible in Prokofiev but her fire and dynamic range vy with any male player! She weaves a powerfully communicative web here ! I've never heard anyone take the octaves as fast as Poon at 5:48 & on. Exciting and robustfully exuberant-A young player only in places especiallythe Presto fast coda shows the immaturity .

Technically superb. Personally I like more contrast in dynamics and tempo after the A major section - The waltz section was played so fast it was hard to make out the notes. Also I think the stretto chords leading up to the A major theme and again just before the coda were played way to loud - the music must spring forth from them and by playing the preceding bars more subtly the effect is enhanced. Overall very, very impressive though :-)

Such excellence! I would have stopped playing early in the song when that idiot used his loud shutter camera! I would have walked to the audience, found out who it was, asked for the camera -and Smashed it on the concrete floor! lol ;)- But, I see that you are a lot more focused than me.

Don't call me racist but she plays better than all other asian pianists. She feels the music while most others follow the score note perfect

A long tail piano and a lot of work behind this performance for a low class rudimentary recording like this one. You should invest in a better camera.

Is it a requirement that pianists make facial expressions and body movements to be a pro? Pianists didn't do that back in the day.
