Try a Swiss Meringue recipe, this is my go to :) 5 egg whites 1 cup sugar 1 cup butter (softened but still cool and cut into cubes) 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1/8 teaspoon salt In a glass bowl, mix the egg whites and sugar. Place the bowl over simmering water and mix gently until there are no sugar grains. Take out an electric mixer and beat until doubled in volume (should be white and silky) and room temperature. Gradually add the cubes of butter and beat until fluffy (this takes a while). Add vanilla extract at the end. Happy baking

I am actually very old @73!😂 We had a Woolworth's here in the USA when I was in elementary school to high school age. It was called a Five & Dime store. (5 cent & 10 cent items) They had a lunch counter. I always got a scoop of potato salad, with crackers, & a very small glass of cola for 25 cents. I was quite poor, but it was the place I could afford for this after-school treat, on occasion. It closed in the late 60's when the first mall was opened. Progress sometimes brings sadness at the demise of the old stores. You guys are such good cooks & bakers. Looked so yummy!❤

I was sad when they closed down, it was like a piece of my childhood was gone. My first part-time job was at Woolworth's! I used to love to stop by the candy counter to get a dollar's worth of candy (you could actually get a good amount of candy for a dollar back then!)
