I related so much about retaliating. I had a value of treat others how they treat you because most times they're unaware of themselves and for them to only realize is the hard way of experiencing it themselves. People don't listen just by words but by how you make them feel. Then eventually I didn't like how I myself have become the person I didn't like. I finally understood what people meant about staying silent, remove yourself from the situation or remain acting kind in a heated situation. It wasn't for the person who didn't deserve it, it's for you to remain true to yourself knowing you can approach an argument in a calm and kind way. I'm still work in-progress letting go of this value. At the end of the day, I don't want to lose control of my emotions.

I meditated two nights ago and I asked how to change my mindset and my answer was to be grateful and be repetitive, to write and to look over what I wrote everyday, to listen and read books repetitively and then I will be able to change and then I will take action.
