The NASB, NIV and ESV quote Jesus in a lie! In John 7:8 he tells his brothers, I am not going to the feast for my time has not yet come. Oh, oh. He is going to break the law of Moses. That eould be a sin. Oh, he waits and then goes to the feast. Liar! BLASPHEMY. . Jedus sumoly ssid, I am not going up yet to the feast. Not now, not yet. He wsits and then goes, no problem, no lie. KJV has 100s and 100s of archiac words that do not have the same meaning today as when written. Have to have a thesaurus or you can easily get mislead reading verses thinking you know what the word means but actually had a totally different meaning back in 1611. For example the word Halt.. "it does not mean stop" like you would think. Example: 1 Kings 18:21 And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.

Hearing you say this makes me feel better. I’m 50 years old and new to Christianity. I was an atheist up until a few months ago. And people online keep telling me in the comment section how you have to stick with the KJV and everything else is wrong etc. I bought 8 different translations by the way. I’m on my fourth now. But anyhow this one person told me to look at Matthew 7:21 and I will see. So I went on bible gateway and looked it up in a bunch of different versions and have no clue what they are talking about. They all say the same thing. I expected to see it be so utterly devastatingly different and it didn’t make any difference at all. People just like to cause chaos and controversy over nothing. Plus if you don’t understand Shakespeare like language then what good is it to only read the KJV. I’m very much enjoying the NKJV the most out of the four I’ve read so far. I’ve already read the KJV, NIV, ESV and the NKJV is my favourite so far.

I went through the same process , but it is very difficult to witness/ share your faith to a nonbeliever in the KJV . I use the Bible app when reading , studying the Bible for me it’s hands down ; NKJV , NLT , AMPC - always comparing with the KJV . I really don’t like the NIV has far too many verses missing/ taken out - the new paraphrasing bible’s actually scare me , it was impossible to keep things in context. If your a new believer keep your head in the Bible , stay away from TV Ministers . There are still a few that are teachers , but the vast majority are showmen, bordering con men. I listen to Chuck Swindol, Raul Ries , John Mac Arthur, David Jeremiah , Voddie Baucham and Tony Evans and Jack Hibbs as you can tell some are conservative and some are a little liberal. I learned to do this so I wouldn’t become pigeon holed into denomination theology. I am on Pinterest ; B.I.C. Just a and I talk daily to a wide variety of believers from super conservative to extreme liberal- always pointing to the scriptures as the main source, not religion
@KMM61873
@KMM61873 Жыл бұрын
@@bobdees6428 I definitely don’t listen to tv preachers. I know who the con men are. Even people in my church who are supposed to be so devoted praise Joel Osteen and Joyce Meyer for example and I shake my head. Even I know they are full of it and I’m a beginner. But I also realize Christian’s don’t read the bible. They go to church every Sunday and just listen to what the pastor preaches and that’s it. I’d rather be informed by reading scripture myself than to depend on anybody. That’s how people get conned out of money. Nowhere in the bible does it say if you pay me $5,000 God will bless you. But I guess if you don’t read the Bible yourself you can be conned out of $5,000.

I was so encouraged and informed by this video. While I grew up with KJV , I have always used the NASB all my adult life and was encouraged to hear again that it is considered the most accurate translation. My Bible Lit professor insisted on its use. I became comfortable with it. To me it is readable but that may be because I could use KJV comfortably. I have considered using some of the more modern translations due to certain study bibles being available in translations other than NASB. This teaching made me more at ease with trying some of the other translations so that I could use other study bibles sold currently. I appreciate your clear and informative presentation. Thank you.

After a lifetime of Pastoral Ministry, yours is the best discussion for the “ordinary person” I have read or heard on the subject. I believe in the literal principle, but there are times when some understanding of the culture, colloquialism etc must be acknowledged. Having said that “NO-ONE” can understand the Bible as God would have it without the indwelling Holy Spirit. No degree of scholarship can substitute for that. Even reading ancient writings of other kinds entirely cannot escape the cultural issue to understand the message as intended by the human author.

- Psalms 12:6-7 is key. God is not confused and did not drop the ball (1 Corinthians 14:33). It's not about the mere translations but the underlying manuscript. Beware: Take a look in your "bible" for these 3 verses. Compare: Matthew 17:21 was removed, Romans 8:1 was chopped in half, and The blood of Jesus was removed from Colossians 1:14.

Hi Tiff! I find your teaching to be a breath of fresh air. I appreciate how you rightly divide the Word of YHWH (Yahweh). I have a question. Only in the King James Version is the Greek word Pascha (Passover) translated as Easter, in Acts 12:4. Easter comes from the word Ishtar, the goddess of sex, fertility, and war. My son recently visited the museum at the Vatican and there was a large statue of the goddess Ishtar. Because of the word Ishtar/Easter, we associate the resurrection of our Savior (Yeshua) with eggs and bunny rabbits. A nod to the goddess of sex, fertility, and war. It has led many believers to place the wrong emphasis on the day which is supposed to be dedicated to the remembrance of Yeshua rising from the grave. Thankfully, the New King James Version has corrected the mistranslation of Acts 12:4. Have you ever run across an explanation of King James’ decision to translate the word Pascha (Passover) as Ishtar (Easter)?

Following up on the issue of "no doctrinal" differences in the versions; I state again one must know the doctrines before one can discern a difference. Tell us, on the basis of Gal 2:16 are we justified by our own personal faith that can ebb and flow (faith in Christ); or are we justified by the gift of the Faith of Christ? Christ knew God would raise him from the dead. Do you know what will happen to you the very moment you physically die?

I have great respect for the NASB, KJV, NKJV and the ESV. I use the ESV as my primary Bible, however I particularly like the NKJV for Old Testament studies. I'm not a huge fan of the NLTV, however I do believe you get the true Word of God from it. I would be comfortable with anyone using any of the five versions you mention.

You handed him over to be killed, and you disowned him before Pilate, though he had decided to let him go. Thanks Pastor Tiff for this. However, you make no mention of the numerous bible verses these translations have omitted from the original or from the King James version. NLT for example has left out like 50 verses😮 Others less😮 So can these five translations still be trusted? I think not.😢😮

Ah ... *FORMAL EQUIVALENCE* ... I heard a story of some missionaries trying to translate the Bible for some Pacific Islanders. They came to the passage that said, _"Wash me and I shall be whiter than snow."_ They realized that their audience had no word for _"snow"_ as there was simply *NO SNOW* where they lived. How did they translate it? _"Wash me and I shall be whiter than _*_the inside of a coconut"!_*

@richardbarry04553

There are problems with the nkjv - two that come to mind are Matthew 7:14 and 2 Timothy 2:15. Those are two major discrepancies that come to mind. The nkjv changes “narrow is the way” to “difficult is the way” which really changes the meaning of Matthew 7:14. And it changes “study” to “be diligent” in 2 Timothy 2:15. There are lots of other problems with the nkjv but I can’t think of them right now. I stick with my King James which the Lord led me to when I was saved in 2021 and which I’ve read completely multiple times now.

He mentioned his first Bible being a Scofield - I believe Moody & J.Vernon McGee both also used that one as well as Billy Graham. I only responded to you cause you've gotten no answer in 5 months, sorry!!! But to check this, can go to Christian Books site, search the book & click to view, look for the list of contributors on a revised edition of it.

Thankyou Tif. I began in early 1967 with the King James, and thanks to the Navigators and two years in the Army l memorized about 300 verses. Upon leaving the Army I bought the NASB, which is my steady Bible, but I continue to memorize in the King James. I also have the NIV. I really like reading my Phiillips paraphrase.

@@dantombs5697 That's actually a source issue; it's accurately translating the text it's based off. KJV actually emended the text to fix it, as noted by the italics (the Hebrew of 1 and 2 Samuel is known to be problematic). A few letters got garbled in transmission, basically. I actually proposed this conjectural emendation of 2 Sm 21.19: "And there was again a battle in Gob with the Philistines, where Elhanan the son of Jair slew Lahmi the brother of Goliath the Gittite, the staff of whose spear [was] like a weaver's beam." This doesn't require much tweaking of the Hebrew and jives it readily with 1 Ch 20.5. I think an honest translation should make this emendation, and add a note explaining it.

@@fnjesusfreak Great job! I love that you search the scriptures out to find an answer. So what do you think about this. Does the inspired word of God contain these verses? Matthew 17:21 Matthew 18:11 Matthew 23:14 Mark 7:16 Mark 9:44 and 9:46 Mark 11:26 Mark 15:28 Luke 17:36 John 5:4 Acts 8:37 Acts 15:34 Acts 24:6-8 Acts 28:29 Romans 16:24

@@dantombs5697 My usual answer is nuanced, so keep this in mind. You're going to get a long explanation; I have highlighted the answer in bold. Most people tend to prefer the shorter or stranger reading as more original, while I tend to consider them likely corruptions. The result is that while my preferred Vorlage is not exactly the same as the so-called received text, it is closer to that than to other text types, including Robinson-Pierpont (I have a copy of their Greek NT, though my ability to utilize it is limited). In many cases, these verses are still present elsewhere, so removing them does not actually harm the message; however, there are a few places, like Mt 17.21, where some damage very much is done to the context. Also, John 5.4, if missing, ruins the entire context of the passage, and Acts 8.37 is a vital soteriological text. Other passages that jar me when not found in modern translations are Matthew 6.13b and 16.2-3. *My preferred text contains all of the above* and furthermore has a longer text of Acts 15.34 ("But Silas saw fit to remain; and Judas departed to Jerusalem alone.") as well as a couple verses in Jude. (Note that the KJV actually contains a marginal note that even their manuscripts did not consistently contain Luke 17.36!)

What is the advantage of having 5 translations of the Holy Bible? I'm happy and blessed to have been gifted with a KJV Bible by my father when I was just a teen and started reading the NT then the whole Bible. Through it I found Jesus and have no problems with it being written in the old English language.

Dear Sir: when studying Ezekiel 36-39, I cant help but see the beginning and the end of the tribulation period, Ezekiel as an older prophet could only see the two peaks of each, like two mountains, he not being able to see the middle parts, the valley of those two mountains , seems this war of Ezekiel is not a war of its own rather the period of Jacob's trouble , to me this simplifies how I view the sections of prophecy and now makes a lot more sense, Also people are trying to say that America is Babylon but they seem to forget verse 18 in Rev. 17 where God states who that city is, in other words, Babylon Means Babylon, where it all started it will all end, The bookends of History

@CODA834 call of duty guy? Lol yea me too kinda! No one said anything about unicorns, arrowsnakes, and idk what the etc,etc,etc is so I can't name those. I know you want to believe, you want it to be the real deal to you. The Holy Spirit is called wonderful for a reason, do you really think that Jesus Christ is concerned with your doubt as in Him pointing the finger at you? Naw , He wants to be real to you, that's the only way. I tried to run and run and run in my earlier yrs , I couldn't out run the creator of heaven and earth, who knew me before the foundation of the world. Even though I'm pretty much as my kids would say.. bald lol ( not too bald) but He knows the exact number of the hairs on my head. ( small number now lol) I tried to throw everything that was a great gift to me in my life away by foolish, selfish choices as a man, but I couldn't ever throw away His love for me, He allows certain things and certain things He doesn't!! I would consider myself a underachieving failure in my walk with Christ, because unless if it was some green alien came down and invaded my heart, soul, mind, Jesus Christ changed my life 20 + yrs ago, He did! I want to please Him, I love His name, His nature, when I stumble, He picks me back up for the 7,000th time, He can do it!! There's nothing He can't do, religion and being religious is yuck, I want to be real!! When I stand before my God that day, it's gonna be all His doing, all His grace for me, I've done nothing to earn anything, it's all Him and that's what I love. He died for sinners and after Paul I' was the worst.

1) The verse 1 JOHN 5:7 of the AUTHORIZED KJV is the most SACRED and PRECIOUS verse in the HOLY BIBLE as it is absolutely referring to the EXISTENCE of the ONLY TRUE GOD/FATHER (John 17:1-3)/HOLY GHOST (Matt. 1:18)/SPIRIT (John 4:24) -- MONOTHEISM/ONE GOD DOCTRINE (Ex. 20:3, John 17:1-3). 2) Therefore, all bible translations which don't contain the exact words written in the verse 1JOHN 5:7 of the AUTHORIZED KJV are incomplete, inconsistent, unreliable, devil infiltrated, and junks.

While the King James and New King James are saying there is no condemnation for believers who walk in the spirit, the others are quiet abut how you live suggesting that it doesn’t matter how you live.

We shouldn't have to rely only on some Bible translations but also for all the translations available so that we can compare the spiritual truth hence we can extract the exact meaning of God's words. As the Apostle Paul said: "These things we also speak, not in words which man's wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual." (I Corinthians 2: 13 NKJV) By the way, nobody can do this except he is sent by God just like Apostle Paul. Nobody can explain the spiritual truths in the Bible unless he is sent because the words of God are kept secret. (Romans 10:15; 16:25) Apostle Peter attested: "But you need to realize that no one alone can understand any of the prophesies in the Scriptures. The prophets did not think this up on their own but they were guided by the Spirit of God." (II Peter 1: 20-21 CEV)
