People are different but we all share similarities. There are about five phases in any relationship building that tells you more about an individual. Just like team building: collect, analyze, argue, resolve and bond. Pot-atoe, Po-tatoe slice and fry, you get fries. The first stages is information gathering, the honeymoon stage(collect and analyze). This stage is the same for all types of relationships except in some uncommon types I'll talk about in another post. Argue and resolve. This is the make or break stage. You both have sufficient information to continue or stop. The earlier you come to the realization and set the boundaries, the better. Bond. Okay at this point you should have realized I'm using my own phrases not one from a textbook. I don't like breakups so I say bond, but you can say decision. The bond/decision stage should take about 6 days after the first four stages have been concluded. If it's taking longer the relationship could be headed for disaster. There must be a celebration or closure at this stage. Just things to look out for in the initial phases on the relationship and you will know them if you're mindful. But the two most significant tell tell signs of seriousness from a partner are: (i) reaction to change. Good or bad change, they might even encourage you to keep doing something you like but they don't because they expect it. Consistence. Morality is sometimes a vague concept when it comes to matters of the heart. (ii) presence. This should have been the first one... . The most difficult thing to find in today's world is presence, but if he/she acts differently around you, good or bad, every time, it's a sign of affection. Your presence invokes their presence. Good is good, bad is weak and need work. Don't blow a chance with someone you invoke a reaction on. There is no time good to ask if a relationship is getting serious. If you're asking, you're not paying attention. If you see signs, act in accordance. If he makes you breakfast in bed for the first time, speak up "you never make me breakfast in bed, are you hiding something like "I cheated on you or an engagement ring?" and smile so he can read your mind and express a lighter truth. True story: years ago, I was seeing a girl and she came to spend the night at my place. Being the gentleman I am, I made her breakfast in bed and she asked me if I was cheating on her already or if I was trying to propose. Long story short, she couldn't stop laughing 'cause I was being defensive and that was obviously because I wasn't presence. The breakfast in bed from me was just appreciation and gratitude. Once you can chill with someone and NOT hook up, it's definitely getting serious; your relationship is growing beyond physical attraction. That initial exploratory stage when you're learning more about someone and figuring out the type of person they are is awesome. A lot of people are scared of that because they're worried about getting "serious" but it should be embraced because the relationship simply doesn't grow without it. Great video! Im still confused on how opening up aboit things, is more serious than sex... blows my mind how people are nonchalant about the most intimate thing. I find it compllicated to notice whether its getting serious. I can't find the boundaries between a coworker, flatmate and this relationship that developed. I've got to know their uncle and some future wants and dreams but I think it's got more to do with us being coworkers who are on good terms. Well and the uncle is another Flatmate. Texting only happens on a work basis.

I misled a guy cause I was honest about not wanting anything from the start, but we spoke every day for about three weeks, then it went once/ twice a day, and we would open up a bit and check in from time to time. He caught my feelings after I first met him then I had to take a step back due to that and felt guilty.
