Don't forget many other stars from our past started from Atalanta, too: Scirea, Donadoni and Montolivo are good examples of it. Other great products of their youth sector in recent years include Conti, Gagliardini, Caldara (albeit they've all been pretty unlucky), Kessie, Bastoni, Barrow, Del Prato and Carnesecchi. Also, a slight correction: Locatelli did start playing in Atalanta's youth sector, but then completed his path to professional football with AC Milan. 😉

I feel it's a stretch to say that Manu Locatelli is a Atalanta youth product, he spent 2 years there before the age of 11 years old. Then he went on to the AC Milan where he spent 7 years! before the age of maturity (alongside his mate Cutrone). Since around the age of 15 he showed promise which lead him to join the Italy U-15, 16 and then U-17 ranks. Years before the revamp of the Atalanta youth system, or Gasperini joining. I would be fairer to say that he is a AC Milan youth product.
