The clear film on both sides is somewhat confusing. In removing the clear film from both sides how do you remember which the backer came of of. Or does it matter ?

STUFF WORKS GREAT, BUT.... 1. i recommend doubling up on it. use two rolls. it's cheap and better safe than sorry. 2. even a hair dryer on high heat will help. thoroughly heat up the area before running the car. it'll give the resin a chance to setup before you put load pressure on it. 3. using electric tape to hold the sheet metal in place while you begin wrapping will smooth things out for you nicely. get your first wraps on. then pull the electric tape off, and continue wrapping. it'll help prevent sliding around and loosening as you start wrapping. 4. last of all and most important.... do NOT unwrap the entire roll prior to application. it's meant to be unwrapped as you apply it. every second the wrap is exposed to the elements is a risk. every spec of dirt and debris is a possible future failure of the application. and yes, all the dangling strips of paper and plastic is a bit of an issue. but vastly less of a headache than dealing with the sticky mess these strips can be. trust me... just tear the excess off every so often as you go along :)

Nah, you're wrong. I used the stuff with one arm because my other arm was injured and it was actually really easy it's all about your preparation pill a piece of the tape off on both sides ahead of time grab your scissors evaluate your situation roll it on as you go. I did it easily in less than 5 minutes and made no mess I was really impressed. But yes if you're not familiar with this stuff it can get messy and you can get tangled up with it, once you learn it and understand it it can definitely be your best friend and prefer it overwhelming actually to be honest.

I just used a monster can and 2 hose clamps. It lasts about 6 months. I helped a friend with his car and instead of a pop can we tried a soup can. I bet that soup can lasts longer than the rest of the exhaust. We live in the salt capital of the US. New York state and a few miles from a massive salt mine. Between our horrible roads and tons of salt, ive seen 4 year old cars with rotten frames...

I think I’m going to buy some of this, but use stainless steel zip ties on the ends to keep it in place. Then wrap the headers with titanium exhaust wrap.
@Meatwad.Baggins
@Meatwad.Baggins Жыл бұрын
I would use one steel and one stainless steel on each end. Stainless is obviously more corrosion resistant but that doesnt mean that it will last longer in this application. Steel is proven to work but yeah it doesnt last forever. Under stress, heating and cooling all the time, vibration and all kinds of crap like that is better suited for steel. However I do not know which lasts longer. I have an experiment goin on with my fuel filler neck to find out but an exhaust pipe has more strenuous conditions. Also, if you wrap your headers which I dont really recommend, do it absolutely perfectly. You run a chance of destroying your headers even if they are stainless

Did you remove the tape you placed over the product after? Or does it stay there? I'm actually getting ready to do it now and decided to look at a video.. ill be cleaning the area around the pipe to prevent any other gunk from getting on the tape.. thanks for your review it really helped. The instructions were simple but I tend to overthink things sometimes 😅
@PhillipsVision
@PhillipsVision 4 жыл бұрын
alexia mora yes, that was there just to hold it in place. If you don’t remove it, it will melt. One thing I did wrong was to unravel it first which caused it to stick to itself. You want to unravel it in small sections as you apply it. That makes it more manageable
