Fred Tiger really has a blast with his new donut toy. Enrichment, like toys, that keeps the animals' minds and bodies busy is important for their overall health, physically, mentally, and emotionally. We are able to provide things like this for the animals because of all of you supporting them. Thank you for being so supportive.
Species: Tiger (Panthera tigris)
DOB: November 28, 2022
Sex: Male
Arrival Date: May 28, 2023
Rescue Story: In the Spring of 2023, TCWR rescued a male tiger cub under witness protection, given the name Fred by one of our longtime supporters. Due to a pending legal case against his former owners, who failed to abide by the Big Cat Public Safety Act of 2022, we still cannot reveal many details of his arrival or his origin. We can, however, share all about his transition at the Refuge and his developing personality.
More About Fred: Fred was amazed by how much space and freedom we gave him in his new habitat, located on our tour loop with the other adult cats. Slowly, Fred is behaving more and more like a tiger, eagerly stalking and running any target he sees. He loves showing off in front of his larger neighbors, charging across his habitat, sometimes through his pool, and fearlessly interacting with them through the fence. Sometimes, his neighbors will join in, playing back by running along the fence line.
