The golfing world would have been a lot duller without tiger in it great guy.
@dantean4 жыл бұрын
Added to his brilliance for miraculous shots is Tiger's ability to play par golf once in the lead, seemingly interminably.. Yes, if a prospective challenger looks like he's making a move Tiger will kick it into a second gear, but the ability to walk, say, a 3 shot lead all the way home EVERY SINGLE TIME is a little-appreciated aspect of his genius for the casual fan.

Tigers putting stroke is completely different now. Also follow through ball you can tell his back is in pain. Shouldering ball through as apposed to his younger years where the pose at the end is more prominent and care free. Distance is the same but the pain is there. Half man half amazing go tiger

Way to discount Earl Woods, the principal architect of Tiger's mental toughness, right on out of the picture. Those announcers were quite boring, and this guy was also quite uninformed and ignorant. 3:01:10

At 2:51:30, Why not just take an unplayable lie and move the ball back a club length? It is only a one stroke penalty. I guess hindsight is always perfect. But, it seemed obvious to me.

Would love to have seen prime Tiger Woods hitting with one of the drivers from today. Maybe the SIM Driver he uses now. These clubs hit alot longer than they did in 2000
@Whoopdido7773 жыл бұрын
He played his best golf when he was in his prime of his life with inferior equipment. For example in this tournament he was still playing I believe it was an old Titleist driver with a small head and a 43.5 inch heavy steel shaft. In 2005 he finally switched over to the newest equipment at the time and used whatever Nike’s driver was that year. That year he averaged 316 yards off the tee. The next “real golfer” averaged 305 yards. There was actually one random guy who averaged 318 yards that year, but he was a side show and then a couple other nobody players, then John Daly who averaged 310, then 2 more nobodies and then finally to the real golfer I was talking about, Davis Love III at 305. So if he averaged 316 that year, there has to have been a fair amount of driver improvement over the last 16 years.

It looks like Duval ran into rough while Tiger probably got a huge bounce on the fairway which must of ran 60 yards. The fairways are rock solid in the summer.

The announcers seemed exasperated at the fact that this young Blasian kid came into the game of golf and decimated his opponents like no one had ever seen before. (Many of Tiger's records still stand 20 years later and will probably stand in another 20.) IF he can win one major a year for the next five years, he'll have 20 majors by the time he turns 50. #Pandemic2020
@lonkylaine4 жыл бұрын
But he won't. Over 43 no player in history won more than one major. Only Julius Boros at 43 or more won twice. Tigers is 44 (2020). If he wins again it will be once and for all.

I'm appalled at the way the British fans conducted themselves. I'd always thought they were well disciplined, but it seems the do not conduct themselves that way any more. I was surprised to see many running, and impeding the players, caddies and officials, and ignoring the police. Then to top things off, the men started jumping the water hazard, and running to do who knows what. I guess I am used to the old ways, and not the new generation who say who cares what anyone thinks, or how they affect others. Kind of sounds like Americans in a way.
@DuncanMcA6 жыл бұрын
Caley Hand you have it the other way round. Watch footage from the 60s, 70s and 80s there was always a mad rush up the 18th fairway on the Sunday. Tony Jacklin famously lost a shoe! It's only in recent years things have actually become more restrained and fans stay behind the ropes now, which is a shame in a way as the crowd on the fairway was always part of the scene.
@gtaylor92184 жыл бұрын
Ya..this is an uneducated post. Players were always followed closely by fans up 18.. and there used to be no ropes etc. The thing you could count on was nobody doing anything crazy stupid or dangerous . ..when I see this happen in this day and age occasionally. I cringe and hope for the best
