Christo -- he's absolutely doing the counter-clockwise shaft circles! He was a hook miss and was searching for a long time dating back to the Hank Haney days to get that inside path more neutral. So much if not all of teaching today and discussion these days is on shallowing and creating a clockwise shaft circle. Maybe that's a good feeling for slicers?? But for the rest of us out here who have a natural tendency to swing too much from the inside .... "counter-clockwise" shaft circles are the way to feel the moves! Ironically, most baseball players who circle the bat in their pre-pitch warmup (if they circle the bat) -- do it counter-clockwise

Now I fight a straight ball vs just off the fairway right with a fade vs in the woods left with a dick hook. I also hit the ball farther this way, club speed up to 121 on mevo.

I just had an epiphany recently... It was always blatantly obvious, but it just dawned on me that in the swing there will be an equal counter reaction to every action. So, in my effort to "stop coming over the top" I keep getting more and more low and inside on my takeway, and that forces my body to adjust on the downswing. Every time producing a drop in the shoulder and a steep over the tops swing. BUT it felt more like what I imagined an inside swing would feel like. It wasnt until I just rewatched Tom Watson discussing his swing "secret", that I realized that what I really felt like was over the top actually put me right on plane. Hence here I am watching your videos and hearing you discuss all the same things, and similar videos we have watched. I wish I would have understood this before age 39 now that I have really hurt my back!

I also note the great hitters hit into their left side. Stopping the hands and then extending/turning to get through the hitting area. ... the clubhead is slinging forward by a “release” action. Not saying someone cannot find a way to hit the ball well “holding” all the way, but the “release” makes the game easier I dare say. (The hands and arms method/release focused swing is my personal favorite - I add I can do it with the Hogan style of swing, i.e. keeping the right elbow down and tight to the torso all the way from the top to contact).

I think that a key element to this is to NOT lose the built up shoulder turn going down towards the ball in the downswing while keeping the right palm facing down towards the ground together with the left wrist, and then only at the very end closing in on the ball, then gradually doing this movement. Doing it that way, then you have more of an ability doing this Tiger move correctly, and then it won't feel so much like a lose swing over the top, but more like you are able to throw something very heavy. I believe strongly that the better that this move gets done, the more you can with some machine measure the amount of pull going through the ball. One should invent some kind of machine that like in armwrestling, measuring the pull force.

Can you define what "Over The Top" means? Because as far as I know, Tiger has always stated (and I believe he does this better than almost anyone) that he attempts to take the club back and bring it back to the ball ON THE SAME PATH/LINE. The fact that Tiger over-exaggerated a PRACTICE swing to remind himself to do something special on that shot doesn't mean he swings "over the top." Let me be clear, I am glad you have found something that works for you. I am glad you are sharing your information with the world and attempting to help make people better. But that doesn't mean you get to take anyone you want and loop them under your realization. Tiger does not swing like Bobby Jones, he never has. This is a fantastic concept! I think it will help many golfers. It would also be important to explain what type of release this because for the average person trying to roll their wrists or go radial/ulnar this will mess thrm up until thry grasp what they should be doing at impact. I do disagree that this is the "most" efficient way to leverage the club because Justin Thomas is very much under and up this is over and down. There are many professionals who swing under and up that play at very high levels and have tremendous swing speeds. Also I feel there is a down side to this mechanism in that for a wedge game it can be very erratic. This video was very enlightening I just think that each golfer should try many different things before they decide THIS is THE best. Tiger abandoned this method for a reason. If golfers learned their wrists outward first the game would be a lot less complicated.

I believe that when Tiger uses this swing he's trying to hit a cut & isn't his normal swing if he wants to draw it because it just wouldn't work. If you watch his practice swing, it goes left across his body to hit a cut. Spieth's practice swing is only to get a specific feeling to his swing. If he actually used that move in his real swing, the ball would always start left & fade right as well.

No, OTT is NOT a good thing. The practice swing demonstrated by Tiger is just a feeling. His actual swing is nothing like the practice swing. He gets on plane and exits low left. If you want to understand it better watch Perez and Elkington explain it here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oIOXo2edbNl3jbM It is just a feeling used to get your arms out in front of you more and not feel so dumped under plane, stuck and flippy.

I agree. OTT is an overcompensating feeling to a bad swing. Not everyone should do this. No great players swing too much left as OTT causes. Don’t go back to it. And watch a real miracle happen each and every time. Cheers 👍😃⛳️⛳️

Telling high handicap players who tend to aim right and get the shaft steep in transition to swing over the top is a complete recipe for disaster. Tiger does not, nor has he ever swung over the top. He is simply making a practice swing and over doing feels to not get stuck which has alway been an issue for him. His swing is not over the top. How the hell do you take a practice swing of Tiger and say he swings “over the top”? That’s is absolutely laughable!

Sorry to disagree. Jack is the GOAT

Jack is the GOAT until Tiger gets 18 majors. But, Tiger is a better player and Jack has said that himself.

You can’t really be telling people to come over the top. Tigers swing has gotten nothing but worse for the last two decades. Why would you use him as an example. This is insane.

we all know that Tiger Woods only going to play in major golf tournaments ,so when you turn tournaments on, it's the tiger show ,you know he's not going to win probably will not make the top cut at the end of days, so you can't watch it on TV, the whole thing is tiger tiger tiger show !!

You have to swing from the inside - to out - READ Ben Hogans book - this over top is total madness

Just watch 99% of pro golfers on tour. No of them swing over the top unless you're trying to hit a BIG fade. Honestly, this is rubbish. Just trying to get views with some odd, niche swing theory
