The syncopation, sequencing, synchronization, cadence, rhythm, and tempo. It all glides so effortlessly, exactly as it should. To channel all that body power into his forearms and fingers with such fluidity can not be appreciated enough.

Love that first swing, perfect sync downswing. As for the weights, his swing also changed with his age and body. I doubt any of us have the same body at 40something as at 18. Look at young Davis Love vs. him in his 40's. No weights but much flatter, rounder swing.

What stands out is the absence of the quick, powerful unwinding of the hips-torso-arms-club on the downswing. He may be going slower on purpose trying to learn something new from butch. Fascinating to see a 17 year old kid only a few years from the start of his assault on the record books of professional golf.

It reminds Tiger to rotate his hips and then his shoulders past the ball which will cause his clubhead to swing up and to the left after impact and miss hitting that horizontal gold club.

if someone would have gotten through to him and told him/restricted him from all HEAVY weightlifting and told him he couldn't work with any swing coach besides butch Harmon (and his dad), he would have won 25 majors (minimum).

Actually not my favorite Tiger swing. A bit later with Butch the hands were lower at the top of the back swing allowing the swing path to move more fluidly towards impact. This is Tiger’s Augusta National swing tho that tore that course a new one, so who the hell am I? Nobody!!! Thank you for changing the game Tiger!

Why did he put on all the muscle. So much more power and flexibility when he was younger. Look at the guys like Vijay Phil and bubba. Lots of power no muscle and no injuries
@pb126616 ай бұрын
I was saying that from day one. he never needed to bulk up. but tiger had a huge ego and wanted to be looked upon as a "real" athlete and wanted to look like a football player in appearance. but having lifted weights for a good part of my life and having friends who did the same.....I knew that injuries would be the end result. mix in his golf training and the number of balls you hit to sharpen your game for the PGA tour; it was never going to end well. Look how many injuries and surgeries the guy had in his career. Nothing wears out your tendons and joints quicker than heavy weightlifting. The guy should have just done stretching exercises, body weight exercises, yoga, etc. He would have broken Nicklaus' major record had he not gone nuts with the heavy lifting....
