Brooke I was hit with another huge bill yesterday and we are already struggling. I am usually upbeat but I felt so down and beat-up. All that matters is paying my rent and feeding my family. You came to mind and I feel ,with all your help I can feed my family. I thank God for you and your family. ❤

The point of this video is to inspire you to look through what you already have and come up with dishes. I said this twice in this video. Some still don’t understand. Saying “the items you have in your pantry cost money too. They weren’t free.” Ok? And? The point is use up what you have without spending extra money.

Todays pantry meal.... 2 boxes au gratin potatoes (99 cents each), 1 can roast beef-great value $3.34 , 1/2 cup leftover ground beef, cooked 1 bag broccoli (great value .99 cents) Make potatoes as directed, add meat and broccoli, pour in casserole dish, top with any cracker you want and bake until hot...about 20 minutes at 350 degrees. Thanks for the inspiration Brooke!

I am still super frugal, that's a hard habit to break. I still enjoy watching you. I found you through Mandy, but I only watch her periodically but watch you all the time. After you mentioned those ham slices the first time, I went looking for them. Couldn't find it at Walmart or Kroger. Finally I found them at my local grocery store for $1.97 each. I stocked up and put them in the freezer. I love them in red beans and rice. And corn in corn bread is always a winner for me. Great video.

My Easter dinner this year will cost $0 as my husband always gets a free ham from work for Christmas and we have one in our freezer due to visiting out Daughter out of state for Christmas and I have all the extra stuff for macaroni salad, we have chickens for fresh eggs and I always have canned vegetables in the pantry. We don't usually do a dessert, but I do have a premade pie shell in the freezer left over from a two pack I bought for Thanksgiving so I can whip up a cream pie with whatever I have on hand if we decide to do a one. Happy Easter Ya'll

I just found your channel, and I've really enjoyed it. So nice and refreshing to see "normal" people sharing their food, home, etc. The internet seems to be saturated with influencers who buy, buy, buy and (aside from that being unrealistically expensive), it's also so wasteful. I only cook for 2 people, so I usually get a ham steak, which is also cheap (and delicious).

So I wanted to share my low budget meal that saved me many times under 5 Dollar meal. Get jiffy cornbread mix two boxes, two boxed red beans and rice mix and a log of sausage. Mix jiffy as a pancakes recipe and you guessed it make pancakes, cook sausage and drain add to your red beans and rice. Take a pan cake I would make them plate size put butter on the cooked pancake and top with the rice mix. You get a peace of Cornbread with every bite of rice it's cheap Filling and so good. If you have leftover pancakes you can eat for breakfast.

Looks delicious. Ham steaks are so affordable and versatile. My Mom put the ham in the scallop potatoes. We always had Lime Jello Salad. I had to cut down on sugar so if you have the Lime Jello Salad that used cottage cheese and Condensed Milk, substitute a large pk of sugar free lime jello and heavy cream instead of the condensed milk. Add a few packets of Splenda to make up for the sugar in the condensed milk. Then the cottage cheese and unsweetened crushed pineapple. It tastes the same as the regular recipe that you can find on line. Bless you for sharing you family friendly dinners, no matter what your budget they all look delicious. God Bless!

Excellent. I like the idea of a setting a certain budget for the cost of the meal, but then "buying" what you need from your own pantry to bring your budget down. It's more realistic as you may need to buy flour, but I may need to buy bouillon, but Sally may need to buy a bag of carrots.

I just love you, you are real! Your channel is not only helpful but fun as well!! I made the corn casserole today. I forgot the exact ingredients but I remembered 3, LOL , Jiffy corn muffin mix, I had honey flavor, 1 can each whole kernel corn and creamed corn. That's it besides butter greasing the pan. I had already spent hours catching up what I had missed on your channel and needed to get the dish going. So..... I I turned on my oven to 400, and greased the pan. I mixed the 3 ingredients together in the dish to save having to wash another dish like you said. (BTW the kernel corn was undrained, didn't remember that.) I baked it for about 45 minutes to an hour till it looked done. It was great. Hubby loved it. He snuck seconds. HA HA . I did watch this video again just to see what I missed. But if you don't have butter or sour cream it still works! You know there will be times when you don't have all that. Keep doing it your way, my friend!

I thought it was so hard but you made it easy, but you also showed us how to stock our pantry, and then yes, you can put together a great meal❤ Happy Easter to you✝️👏💕

Wow what a great price! I really gotta watch Kroger's sales better. I'm a town away so I always forget about them. That would definitely make it worth the drive!

@@katiekoduvalil6049 , Kroger will have spiral ham $.89 and shank ham $.79 a pd. starting Wednesday March 29th. I'm always looking for markdown meat and other markdown items at Kroger

@@debbieframpton3857 thanks! We have a store called Schnucks here and they generally have good sales too. I'm hoping so this time too. I'll have to check it out. Otherwise I'm making a trip out of town. Lol

@@katiekoduvalil6049 , I also have a Schnucks real close and I shop for certain things but I shop Kroger more because I'm always looking for markdowns. Kroger is a quarter of a mile and Schnucks half a mile from where I live but they both should have hams on sale. Good luck shopping
