Question 2.
Do you favor changing the STATEWIDE general open season for trout and salmon in inland streams, springs, and spring ponds to the first Saturday in April at 5 a.m. through October 15? I AM VOTING NO
*Much of our state is open the first part of January until October 15 for catch and release excluding many of the northern streams. THIS IS ASKING TO OPEN IT FOR HARVEST IN APRIL UNTIL OCTOBER. This is not just asking to simply extend the season. Trout are vulnerable to harvest in April and spawning is beginning to occur in mid October on many of our northern streams.
Question 3.
Do you favor having only one statewide county base regulation of 5 trout in total with no minimum size limit? I AM VOTING NO!
*This is asking to change the daily bag on trout from 3 to 5 fish with no size limit as the default on ALL streams without a specific trout regulation. I feel we are going backwards in our thinking on the conservation effort that we have worked so hard to achieve.
I appreciate you taking a look at these questions carefully and helping spread the word on what looks like it could be a scary step backwards.
