I'm not sure what happened to the audio. I watch everything all the way through to make sure that everything is good. Must be something that happened to it after the fact. This video has been up for a few years now and I just started getting comments about it. I may have to reload it.

I dont think mine had ever been cleaned out. So much old grease that it turned into a hard paste. Works great now.

I'm going to be trying this on mine... Turns so hard it feels like the handlebars are going to bend... I'll let you know if it works.

Yeah I really didn't expect it to be that. I tore through everything else thinking something was rusted at first. Once I cleaned the old grease out and polished the spindle it turned so easy. Some of the grease was so hard it was like concrete between the spindle and the spindle tube.

@@thethriftysnowmobiler9801 this was totally what it was. The right ski was seized so hard we had to use a tie rod press to get it out! Unfortunately, the plastic cushions broke getting it out on that ski, but now that it's back together, I can turn it with my little finger! Thanks for posting this video, it was a life saver!

@@thethriftysnowmobiler9801 Agreed. I spoke too soon. Just finished rebuilding my 1980 Motoski special and found that there is a lot of standard and metric mixing. The twelve point sockets are definitely more interchangeable than the 6 point. I also had some steering issues. .lots of left but barely any right, and after a bunch of unsuccessful adjusting I ground out about 1/4" off the right stopper, and with your advice got it turning like new!

That's awesome! I am glad I could help. Mine was such a struggle to turn and there was no video on it so I was like...I'm going to make one because in the end helping each other is what life is about. Everyone being able to live it to the fullest! If you need anything else that there might not be a video on let me know and I would be more than willing to put together a how to video on it to help.
