Fellow Malaysian here. I left corporate 3 years ago at age 33 (was in Finance field too). It was depressing being stuck between upper management's expectations and subordinates' antics. I had no time or space for myself because I always put others first and prioritized my career. My mental health was at its worst. I resigned without a backup plan and started an Etsy shop and Amazon KDP. I lived extremely frugally for 2 years but still felt happier than ever. Now, in my 3rd year, things are improving financially. I haven’t changed countries yet, but maybe that’s a good idea when I feel more secure and confident in my life.

I am so happy and rooting for you, Tika Ghafar. I hope you take off some day as you wish. I used to have a dream to go live overseas. I was once an exchange student and spent a year in Canada. That is one of my best experiences for sure. Now, I need to live with the reality and responsibility that I am proud of, to take care of my own family, my wife, and enjoy finding as much money as possible to clear off my beautiful and happy house. Good day! Tika

Babe! I quit my horrific law firm job after 5 yrs in Bombay. I’m so so relieved that I started investing early and could do this tbh! So glad I could spend time with my friends and family guiltfree, have a a month in europe and am now thinking about my next steps (and next holiday). I too don’t have an answer for how long and that is perfectly fine :) relate hard on how many choices we made as corporate employees were because that is the limited time our corporate jobs allowed us to make. We didn’t actually make the best ones :) enjoy the journey and see you on every side of this! Hi-5!

Hi. I’m also a PM who just recently quit my job. The burnout and stress got the best of me and i finally decided to leave this high-paying job - which even let me work from home!!! Some people might say i’m crazy. But let me just tell you that your video ignited something within me and I now feel really inspired. There’s a comfort in knowing you are not alone in the same kind of journey and others feel the same. I wish you good luck and success!

PM too that works from hoome and so so burnt out and I want to do the same and just quit but it’s terrifying!!
@lovedessyt10 күн бұрын
@@bianca8434 it is indeed! i still am terrified, tbh. i think having sufficient backup / emergency fund is really important during these times. i'm sure you'll get through this, don't worry. ;)

So done with 9-5, its Depressing!
@MoniqueJ-g2s16 күн бұрын
ikr i retired at 52 and honestly, I wish I’d done it sooner. The 9-to-5 grind always steals your freedom for a paycheck that barely scratches the surface. My advice? If you’re in your late 30s or early 40s, start saving for FIRE now (Financial Independence, Retire Early.) And if you’re in your 50s, invest smartly and break free from relying on your job. Market trends, like the Trump Effect, have made millions for many, including me. Stay focused, stay consistent, and remember financial freedom is within reach if you make it a priority.
@Nancy-1w16 күн бұрын
Exactly My point! The 9 to 5 grind is just not worth it the stress and low payoff. What specific steps did you take to break free?
@MoniqueJ-g2s16 күн бұрын
Working with Lorrie Greta Hillard , a financial advisor, was a game changer. She helped me refine my savings strategy, including retirement planning, and provided expert guidance on investments and budgeting to maximize my savings.

girl I'm vicariously traumatized by that seagull attack, sending you healing vibes 💖 I really enjoyed hearing your reflections over your experience in the past 6 months, I think it’s super admirable that you’re maintaining a positive outlook even when things don’t go to plan. I’m excited to see what’s in store for you this next 6 months 😊

Thank you for such an amazing video! I really like the way you talk about things. I also like the vibe of the video and that is a bit "chaotic", for the low attention spawn of people these days it feels nice to jump to other ideas in different filming settings, while maintaining the main line and feeling of the video :D Congratulations for what you do, you got a new subscriber! Looking forward to seeing your journey! Best of luck! 😃🤞🤗

This is a great video. I love all your videos. I actually have made several changes in my life, meaning I've had different chapters completely different than the previous. After high school, I went to college in GA for graphic design and video production. After I got my degree, I moved to MI where I got a job helping people with disabilities. I taught computer classes, did the website, and did the IT stuff for the organization. During that time, I also had a second job at a comic book store and I was in a relationship where I helped raise my girlfriend's two children from her previous relationship (and the father was not in the picture). That was so rewarding. Keep in mind I myself have a disability and use a wheelchair. Unfortunately, a few years later, we drifted apart (wanting different things in life), so we broke up and she moved out. I never saw the kids again, which is sad. Then, I dived more into my spirituality and traveled quite a bit. I became an extrovert... after my entire life being an introvert. I even wrote three books about self-empowerment and positivity. After writing my third book, I decided to leave my job at the organization after ten years and go back to school in GA to obtain a physics undergraduate degree. Towards the end, I realized I enjoyed the mathematics behind it better, so I got my Masters in math. And now, I'm going for my PhD in math, working on combinatorial number theory. It's very challenging, but I love it. RJ

I'm 8.5 years into working 9-9, previously six, but recently five days a week, as a pharmacist (same place, never resigned). The hate holds a much higher proportion than the love for my job. It pays well & drains extremely well. I've been trying and trying and trying to quit and run away somewhere. But it's like a maze & I couldn't find my way out. So, if you're reading this, please just pray for all my skilled migration procedures to go through smoothly, and hopefully, I manage to escape this time. Cheers to my upcoming biggest prison break! 😂

Ex-PM in corporate Australia … lost my high-paying PM job in IT last year and I’m going all in on KZbin … life is a journey and this stage is so much better And yeah I’m earning 20% of what I used to but have saved $8k at the same time … I’ve never had that much saved .. I used to spend it all. Your video resonates with me and my experience so much 👍🙏
