Is this the tallest tiki mug ever? [Chimp in Orbit]

What is the story with this super tall tiki mug?? It was used at the Hilton Hawaiian Village in the 1960's and this recreation of an otherwise super rare mug lends to a fun and bizarre drinking experience.
To make the Chimp in Orbit:

1 1/2oz Gold Puerto Rican Rum
1/2oz Orange curacao
1/2oz Creme de cacao
3oz fresh lemon juice
3oz fresh orange juice
1oz red vermouth
1/4oz grenadine
--------------------------------------
Fill a 26-ounce super tall Chimp in Orbit mug with crushed ice. Add ingredients and swizzle to chill. Garnish with long straw and plastic monkey.

Spike, my son was in a punk band and going to Belmont University to become an audio engineer. To keep the band from ruining his career he went to see an Audiologist. He custom made him a set of earplugs that allowed him to hear while taking out the damaging frequencies. Might help you.

Although the term Yankee ingenuity is more often associate with the Northern states this region of the country holds no monopoly on creative thinking. ZZ Top was clearly engaging in powerful southern logic and tradition when ordering these drinks. Whether knowing it or not they came to the same conclusion Mark Twain did when faced with a similar conundrum. As noted by the passage below from his outstanding book “Following the Equator”. “I pledged myself to smoke but one cigar a day. I kept the cigar waiting until bedtime, then I had a luxurious time with it. But desire persecuted me every day and all day long. I found myself hunting for larger cigars...within the month my cigar had grown to such proportions that I could have used it as a crutch."

As you first tilted that mug to put the lemon juice in, it reminded me of the Gorn episode of Star Trek, where Kirk is putting his home-made gunpowder into the big piece of bamboo. You need a specialty straw that curves below the rim of the mug. I think you could also rest that between your legs, if you were in a booth.
