I wish you did your comparison of the 440 Pure and the Ray with the AURA turned on. Because I think that is the feature that made me feel the Ray sounds better. Besides constantly adjusting gain, doesn't the AURA circuit also continuously adjust the tone?

If comparing the 440 to the Ray with with aura on then absolutely they sound different. The ray mimics the sound of the mic 30cm/1ft away so you’re going to have far less low end.

Apparently when they banned tiktok in India. They did it in such a way that even using vpn didnt work, they blocked it by dns level too. Even the servers were blocked isp side i guess. I remember reading about it few years ago

For me 440 pure.. Seems to me it's smoother and more HQ audio.

They're the same pretty much imo. A very bright mic, a 'bright done right' mic but still not what I would call a smooth, warm mic by any means.

@@Dracomies That’s exactly right. But compared the 440 seems to me that have a little more low end or low mids, so I’ve got the sensation that is less harsh and sibilant on the high frequencies. Love your channel by the way.

Hello Brother, I hope you are doing well! When the Ray was launched I hd vaguely guessed that its simply a Lewitt 440+ or something with a new feature that’s it and nothing else, not sure if tht feature is useful for people who can do proper gain staging and for podcasts that go through proper post processing wherein some of the stuff this mic claims to address can be easily achieved, so for someone who already has a 440, I don’t think its a very worthy upgrade. Also, yes I have recorded a few episodes during the covid second wave with a face mask on and it definitely works for plosives but makes me particularly sound nasally & terrible, lol Thanks for your wonderful insights as always, take care, god bless🙏🏼

Also, if I may add that I got the sE V2 Switch on your recommendation and its such a nice sounding supercardioid microphone at 50 bucks that it can be a very good investment for newer podcasters, that thing has the handling noise issue as you pointed out and a little sizzle up top, but….its very workable with some EQ in the post!

From the day it launched it was known to be an "issue". I banned it in my house long before this. Its interesting to see the split on this. There's the "tech" crowd that I associate with that are glad something is being done about it. Then theres the "normal" folks that think this is outrageous. What you said about any of these platforms disappearing tomorrow is spot on. To build your life around a platform that you dont control is kind of weird to me (as someone who makes youtube videos lol) but then again, I dont make my income from it. I think you should do every video with a face mask on lol. Its fun to watch the material go in and out as you speak. (thats entertainment baby!) Whats the big white canvas lookin thing on the desk?

The tiktok is weird. When huawei got banned from android, it meant I stopped getting updates for my M5 tablet even though I don't live in America or China. This was ironic as it had been the best supported and most updated Android device I have owned. And when I bought it there were almost no competing tablets with a high resolution screen. My previous tablet was a lenovo, but that got few updates, the newer models had only a low resolution screen. That had to be replaced as both the charge port and the battery were failing. Repair was possible, but not cost effective. The huawei was well specified and great value. I'm not sure you can say that about tiktok, though it is cash free I guess.

Intensively using your phone as an ebook device would kill the battery and devalue the phone so fast the kindle will end up saving you money. Same goes for using it as an audio playback device.

I don't live in the US so I don't have any opinion about the TikTok ban. But I'm so peeved and upset that Google Podcasts will shutdown in June. I don't want to use Spotify janky app or KZbin Music 😫

I 100% agree! Google podcast was so simple, intuitive & clean. Here in the US, we already had GP shut down. I gave KZbin Music a chance. But it just sucks. I have now also tried Podcast Guru & Podcast Addict. They too are a maze to navigate & fall way below the simple UI I'm looking for. I original switch to GP from CastBox. CastBox for what wver reaaon kept taking up more & more memory. Memory consuming bloated apps are terrible. Note, I rarely download a podcast. I typically stream them. So downloads were not the reason for memory consumption. Apparently most everyone (developers & users) are looking for (or accepting) the, "do everything ok," instead of preferring, "it doesn't do everything, but the one thing it does, it does great." I'm not going to Spotify. I will keep trying different apps. I hope I find one, before I just give up on podcasts.
