I'm German. Where I'm from history lessons in school were about the Holocaust 90% of the time. No one thought they were being brought into a special room. Everyone there knew what would happen(, unless they're like 4). Not EVERY fucking person was brought into Auschwitz. Not EVERYONE there was Jewish. These kids know like 2 things about the Holocaust and try to spread awareness, and for what? Imo it would've been different to maybe talk about how American politics right now have a lot of things in common with German politics back then. Raise awareness about how just because it has been Germany's mistake, doesn't mean that America cannot learn from it (bc rn it doesn't seem like they did). But no, you wanted to make a TikTok about how pretty you are so you thought "The Nazis would rape me, right? Like I'm hot, right?" Anyway this made me really mad. And if you actually want to watch something that explores the social circumstances surrounding this topic in recent times I recommend the movie "Die Welle". It's not a documentary, it's an actual movie which engages the viewer into critical thinking about todays environment and imo is suitable for young teenagers.

To them it probably seems like something that happened so long ago (even though it really wasn’t) that they don’t understand the true weight of the topic (not meant to defend these tiktoks just a possible explanation) I’m an American and, while I learned a decent bit about WWII and the holocaust in school, the weight of it all didn’t really set in until I actually visited the Dachau concentration camp, or what’s currently left of it anyway. We went to visit a town with our own lastname, a pretty common german-jewish family name, 90% of the families, most of the families with the same last name as mine, have all died, all jewish and also people, saints basically, who helped them hide and paid for it with their lives. I will never know if they were my family, i will never know their names, never see their faces. Great grandparents family home in Dresden - robbed and taken, along with priceless pictures and everything that they held dear - but they were the lucky ones who survived, their uncles and aunts, their community, all gone! And they think "acting" it out would show ANY respect?? 13yo me knew more about respect and how to spread awareness like a human. kinda glad that tiktok in my country (indonesia) is mostly just reviewing things they bought, promoting businesses (especially small business) and tips for online shop owner. i think bcs of this pandemic getting money is rlly hard so most ppl are opening online shop this is at least for what ive seen in my fyp tho, idk if other indonesians fyp r like mine too

I haven’t seen this trend yet tik tok, thank goodness but on my for you page I saw something almost as insensitive. As Chadwick Boseman the late actor has just died, some person took it on themself to record a video themselves dancing slow mo and striking poses to a song on the Black Panther movie soundtrack. 😐 they thought that was a good dedication. Cringely slow mo walking in place to a song in his name.

There's a new thing where some users on tiktok are putting up "jump scare" videos, with a real, not fake, 100 PERCENT REAL, video of a man committing not alive- It's disturbing and not ok- they have been using the stitch feature to make it seem like an innocent cat video, or other things then boom trauma.
