Hey Charlotte! The balloon and due thingy is actually a sits-bath. She dyed the water I believe so you could see it, anyway a sits-bath is great for soaking your bottom (post partum, hemorrhoids, chafed, etc.) She's bouncing/pushing the balloon into it to show that the water won't overflow. To add on to what this person said usually sitz baths have an IV like bag with a tube that you fill with water that flows into it to keep the water moving and keep it a little fresher. That way you have clean water coming and rinsing out the area. And also helps replace the displaced water once you sit in it. It pretty relaxing if you aren’t in massive amounts of pain.

Toilet one. That purple "dye" is a potassium permanganate, it's used for general disinfection. It's usually done after giving birth to keep everything down there clean and healthy. Fun fact - after you soak in that purple solution, whatever part you've soaked, the skin on it will become orange for a while.
