For the sushi rice your gonna want to season it only with rice vinegar and a little sugar. I've seen a bunch of sushi videos from different people and this is what they do!
@84rinne_moo3 жыл бұрын
That works if you want it to be sushi. But you don’t even have to season the rice, which is how onigiri or musubi is made. The flavor comes from the fillings or furikake can be mixed into the rice as well. 👍

That's why this isn't a hack. It would be fine to eat straight away, but if you're packing it for lunch, it's just best to do it the traditional way with rice protecting the nori from getting soggy. I make rolls for my boyfriend's lunch all the time and you don't even need to use a bamboo mat to roll it. You get the hang of it, the more you do it.

If you're nervous about trying raw fish, take it slow. Order some medium seared salmon or some pepper crusted seared ahi tuna. That way you get a mix of cooked and uncooked fish. The flavor and texture are so unique. The first time I tried sushi I gagged and spit it out in a trash can, but in my defense, I was a 5 year old kid eating a questionable free sample of a California roll in a grocery store lol. Now I can't live without it. And when you do try raw sushi, make sure it's about body or room temperature (most is frozen for safety and it's not always fully warmed up). There's something uncanny about it in the same way that there's something unsettling about eating cool beef tartare. Also, I think everyone should try a food they're intimidated by at least twice. The first time is just to get the "weird" factor out of the way and the second time is when you actually get to try it without being too nervous/having biases
