So, first, that's a beautiful story. I'm glad she could help out a couple in need. Second, however; did I hear "this is for a PRC family" correctly? I'm confused: I would have thought it was cheaper to hire a surrogate in the PRC. Is there a legal obstacle to doing this in China? Or is this just a clever exploit of birthright citizenship & immigration fraud? I hope the baby doesn't have US citizenship to anchor that family's future chain-immigration claim, merely by virtue of it being brought to term here.
