Young girls who’s never had a boyfriend before doesn’t get how jealousy, overprotectiveness, etc. can be toxic. They only have stuff like movies to draw from, and movies often romanticise things that really is not romantic in real life. For example when I was younger I saw jealousy as a good thing because that meant that I was desirable and that the person would do anything in order to not lose me, but that’s not how I see it anymore, at all.
