These are people who didn't want much. They didn't want an expensive, luxurious kitchen. They just wanted a decent, nice, normal kitchen that actually works. And Mike made their life better by giving them a luxurious kitchen. This elderly lady saw the little things, but were very huge for her. Such an awesome lady. 🥰🥰🥰

Thank you Mike and Crew! I have been around remodeling all my life with my parents who remodeled every house except one. That one, the built from ground up. I believe my parents were the original Chip and Joanna Gaines except we lived in every house as they remodeled it. You make me feel closer to my parents who have passed on!

well if you start ripping things out and getting a bare shell ready then maybe the contractors will do as you want as mike says start from a bare shell to remove all old reno and fix ups

Many episodes Mike rails about tearing it all out to the frame, Fixing all the hidden issues, Then rebuild from base to finish, which i agree with. Why not here? The lath and plaster is that great? clear to see it is all very dated. Even the electrician was concerned about hidden issues.

Mike has to convince both the tv network and the homeowners to do that kind of work. The homeowners might of just wanted the issue fixed so they can get back to living in the house. The homeowners might of not wanted to pay. The tv network could of said no we arnt willing to pay the time and money, maybe this location was far enough from other projects at the time so the crew could only work on this location. Theres a lot more negotiating and compromises between the interested parties compared to a normal job.

Unless he suspects something is wrong he never does that. He even explains that in the video. Anything he does is because it's related to something else or if it's faster/less expensive. He is not going to plaster a house because it's dated. By your logic he should be stripping every house back to the frame in case there are hidden electrical issues.

The only thing bothering me is in the intro video he is using the temporary support posts as also a jack. They are not designed to lift they are designed to support and only temporarily. He of all people should know this.

On of the things that does bug me is how Mike arbitrarily does things to his "taste" or that "works" for him. There was one episode he removed a bedroom. Most people are happy to just have it fixed and will accept just about anything. I wonder how they feel in a week or month later.

the ikea engineers would have blood vessels burst seeing someone that appears to montage something inspired by their methods and ..hammering.. in the connectors , cant tell you how many ''DONT NEEd MANUAL! ME MAN UGH UGH ME KNOW INSTINCT!'' that done that and well , guess why the 'second hand/sold cheap due to small scraps etc part of the store always got something from all parts of the store ^^

Yes, this is really good out of everything. You did the only thing I would’ve done different instead of putting a white cock between the countertop and the backsplash you should’ve got some colored some bone or whatever almond or something that’s not shock white because there’s no white in the cabinets on the wall on the countertops nothing, but that’s minor
