*For all of those that comment about my blade to the finger, obviously you don't know anything about tile blades, they cannot cut a soft item, they are meant for dense material*
@mrsmith93506 жыл бұрын
Lol, i did it to a customer once, touched blade on purpose while they were talking to me, and yelled, they freaked out and i laughed so hard and touched it few more times
@Jantus10005 жыл бұрын
Until it grabs your hand, sucks it in and wedges it between the table and the blade. Same as a grinding wheel, which also isn't a sharpened edge.
@mikeklug33694 жыл бұрын
@@Jantus1000 no wrong. Tile saws will not grab anything. No room and not a chance of grabbing. Might skin you slightly and obviously if you hold it on there it could maybe burn you. A grinder will cut you to the bone with no regard. I know this first hand by using tools all my life. I am not condoning putting fingers on any blade of any kind but know characteristics of tile blades. If your finger rubs against it you'll most likely hardly know it.

Gah 3:47. I've been setting tile about 18 years. I've lost count how many times that's happened. Doesn't even phase me anymore. Anytime you're free cutting up off the tray it just takes a slight twist and the blade grabs it. The worst part is when it breaks the tile haha.
@nickavery24965 жыл бұрын
(Young female) I have tried to do the same thing, that thin it normally breaks almost 90% of the time, unless its perfectly squared on one tile. Even then it's a hard cut.

Those "valve guards" are pretty damn ridiculous. I've been plumbing and tiling for several years and have found that is most cases, that as long as the screw holes are not obstructed, you will be just great. No need for all this but, just a tip. Take it if you like it, if not then that is perfectly ok.
@StarrTile7 жыл бұрын
Mud guards are great, I use them all the time, and upset when the homeowner throws them away BEFORE I plumb in the valve. Mudding, Regard, tiling, all make a mess on the valve without one...just my take.

Yeah, that’s what the previous “smarter” guy thought too. Problem is that some escutcheons are made with a recess that fits in that whole so square doesn’t work making it “harder” for me to fix his mess.

You didn't show how to cut a circle in the centre of a tile with the wet saw. I've seen it done with a wet saw on a bench, not a drop wet saw. As you didn't succeed completely with your example from the side of the tile, can it be done in the centre? You mentioned it could, so why not show us and show us a successful example of the circle from the side that you did?

I would think you could use a hole saw to make a hole in the center and then four holes around the edges. Then just clip them out with the grinder and then clean up the edges. What I’m really wondering is if they make a diamond blade for a jigsaw.

@StarrTile2 жыл бұрын
First of all there are dozens if not hundreds of videos on KZbin showing using a grinder, it is extremely doubtful that a homeowner would even have a grinder let alone know how to use one just for building a shower one time... so this is an alternative method that somebody building a shower to use since they have a wet saw already.... plus the tile shown here is a very soft ceramic and you are not going to be able to get that kind of hole without busting the tile using a grinder
@3rdaxis6498 жыл бұрын
Fail. I always make sure to lay out the tile so you don't wind up in the middle of a single tile rather two or even four tiles makes it much less likely to make a mistake
@chasermcchaser16687 жыл бұрын
Is that feasable.??? What if your front tiles are only an inch thick because of that? this was my idea, but idk.
